I totally agree that WoW had more content at launch and the greed of Blizzard Activision is also a big reason I stopped playing not to mention the vast amount of changes made to the game for the worst. I feel WoW was at its best with BC and just went downhill from there. Wow was also way more that $60 considering.
I can understand that Destiny isnt the game for everyone, but for me and the people who do enjoy Destiny, this is a good middle ground. I refuse to ever play another game that charges sub fees, its why I won't touch ESO. I feel I have gotten my money's worth with Destiny, and I still enjoy playing it. The shared world mmo-styled elements are unmatched by any other fps rpg atm.
And honestly, if Borderlands (one of my favorite franchises) would incorporate mmo elements into the next iteration, it would be unrivaled. If they would just add pvp elements, the replay value would be enormous. I got bored after the 4th playthrough. Borderlands was just as repetive as Destiny, and I feel the story was weak as well. What Borderlands did better was randomly generated loot system. The combinations were endless and plentiful. As for now, im happy with Destiny and dont feel ripped of $60, and i'm more than happy to pay for more content.
