After recent updates to both the Cryptarch and Treasure Cave everyone was sure that the hunt for engrams would become more satisfying and helpful in leveling up in an overall relentless world. However, this is not the case. Currently I am a level 28 hunter and have played ever since it came out on September 9th. While grinding for resources is a pain and bounties can be tedious at times (especially when you have to do patrol missions) you have the knowledge to know exactly what you will be receiving and what you're working towards; instant gratification. But when it comes to engrams the mystery lies not within the item, but the manner in which the Cyrptarch will screw you over (usually by bending you over and really giving it to you). Finding engrams is easy when you're looking for crap to pile up in your inventory. In a single mission I completed recently I found approximately 15 green engrams, and no it was not a strike, just a normal mission. When a blue engram pops out of an enemy I'm excited to see a new color other than that putrid green but instantly my happiness turns to frustration knowing that my item will either be useless or crap, sometimes both if I'm lucky! The occasional mote of light or strange coin is nice change of pace but over time it becomes a little annoying and cumbersome. Now you may be saying to yourself "Well, what about when you get a purple? Isn't that good?" and you would be right. The only issue is you can't. Since the recent patches which have destroyed any hope for finding unique and exotic items outside of the raid and Xür, I have not found a single purple engram. I have received a few through strike rewards but other than that, nothing. While my case may be rare, I ask the community to comment with their stories, concerns, or quarrels they've experienced throughout their time on Destiny. Anything from finding an exotic engram to being absolutely wrecked by the soulless engram decoder known as the Cryptarch. God's speed.
