I play Destiny everyday as well as surf the forums. If someone were to ask me "Do you like Destiny and do you think it has a future?" I would tell tell them yes, but what it has done to the community seems to be quite obvious.
It is tearing everyone apart. It is tearing down the future of consoles and revealing a dried out deserted land of lonesome players accompanied by clouds of company made gamer depression.
As I see on bungie.net , reddit, and online articles, this game has evidently been a let down despite the large amounts of player. The numbers will take a dive over the next month, as well as a slow trickle over the next six months.
Sure this is all speculation, but the game's prior year advertising combined with audience reaction, tied in with upcoming releases, seems to show a future downfall of this game and quite possibly, console gaming over the next few years.
Activision has slashed at the throats of gaming community and we may very well bleed out
Mehh . . .either way. Shut up Meg

I love "The Calling"

The gaming industry will chug on as a multi billion dollar industry Bungie's future is less stable. How they have handled Destiny feels sloppy. the Master Chief left them a strong Foundation and Fanbase to build off of. And while the Structure they built utop it looks nice, its supporting frame is half assed. A storyless, purposeless grind to nowhere, that doubles as a DLC sales platform. Animal Crossing: Destiny Game Maker Its about a Girl or Boy coming from their old town to seek new adventures. Then a grumpy Raccoon named Tom Nook sells you a new Game. Only problem is, the game is empty. Then you spend most of your time grinding resources and money so you can Buy access and Build the game you always wanted. But its more of the nothing you already had, but the player Dreams on and works towards nothing for $19.95 every 2 months. 30.00+ if you're not in america. tl;dr I bought SunSet OverDrive. Hopefully its fun.

The future is what comes next, nothing more. Destiny and Skyrim are my two favourite games to be made so far and I see the possibility for a bright future.

I agree, the damn future of gaming involves a shit ton of dlc and a bunch if let downs, like destiny
-
I don't think the numbers are going to take any kind of a huge hit. Most of the haters and people who "sold their cop" will still be keeping a close eye on this game, and come crawling back once new content is added and changes are implemented. I'd bet a lot on that.
