30 warlock here, one who truly loves his ice breaker and venation, quite the sharpshooter, but after last night spending 3 hours not beating atheon on hard I was fed up with the raid. So I wanted to try out my maxed gjallarhorn holy aids
Seriously guys, use it over your ice breaker. I put 4 rockets into him with times vengeance about 1/6 1/5 down before everyone got to the middle. Im guessimg with the wolfpack it does about 40-50 k each rocket.
We did it our second try in 3 teleports with two down after the second teleport. I used one ammo syn and honestly a team with this and full synth could probably do it first try at most two.
Seriously guys I cannot stress how OP it is, if you have it pull it out for him ~200000-300000 per person (6 rockets) could probably take him out like it did for us in 3 minutes even after losing 2 people.
Its easier then trying to cheese, or conservatively taking your time with it. And just as a last note, I have the unfriendly giant (with tracker) and hezen vengeance, they both do about 15k and with 7 perfect maxed ice breaker shots at 12k each you're still sitting at half the damage ( if you use your secondary after gjallarhorn). Let me know how you guys feel, I was skeptical but jesus I love mine now, thanks

I pull it out whenever I do Atheon. I've pulled it out while some guys have had their Simulents equipped. It was pretty cool to see the new heavy alongside the old. It was kind of a "Vanilla Destiny, The old guard" meets "Year 2 Destiny, the Next Generation" kind of moment.

Bump for Gjallarhorn, long live the 'horn!
-
You can do it in one go with a team of Black Spindles :p

I got mine a few weeks ago from running the nightfall. I was disappointed at first, I though it would be ridiculous to waste an exotic slot on a heavy weapon. Man was I wrong! It is hands down the best exotic I own, I think I'm up to 12 or 13? So I've tried most of them. The reason it is better than truth is that it also seeks enemies but once it detonated 4 or 5 additional rockets seek out of the explosion to do even more damage. Truth does a better job of clearing out big groups of enemies but Gjallerhorn does crazy damage on a single enemy, which is why it rocks on bosses.

Necro

It hurts

Y'all remember this?

Use gjallanhorn 331
-
The problem with it - and other weapons, with the exception of icebreaker - is that you lose ammo every time you wipe. So while being really good when people can do it in the first or second try it's probably safer to use icrebreaker when you are struggling. I wouldnt mind a shorter cooldown on ammo synth in raids, for that very reason.

My elite raid team has been using this method since the first day we all got together and started the hard mode. The only difference is that we have a titan using "weapons of light" so we usually down him in one round.
-
If people in my group have Gjallarhorn I make sure they know how pivotal it is to use it. Those that don't are on supplicant duty.
-
Uhhh it's the best exotic in the game...hands down
-
i dont understand why it is so much better than the truth, i havent used it, can someone enlighten me to its perks and why it is so good? also, im assuming its only from RNG right? i dont think ive seen a bounty for it, but idk
-
I gear myself and my abilities around my gjalahorn in the vault we have 1 titan with weapons of light bubble so I have need to use that same bubble so I use the force barrier bubble and mess with my abilities so that I have a faster reload whilst force barrier is up so combine that with weapons of light I managed to get off all 8 rockets before the first times vengeance was up so yes I toke him down to a little over half health with my damage alone so so op I LIKE IT lol

Use weapons of light wink

There's video of a group with six of these equipped and they burned him down in 17 seconds.
