Very interesting! Part way through the section about the legend, (second paragraph of "Various accounts") it mentions Tommy Johnson as the probable origin of the legend though, and there is further mention of it in this [i]other[/i] wikipedia page (second paragraph from bottom under "Career" and "In Fiction" section). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Johnson_(musician) Ultimately, it looks like we are [b]BOTH[/b] right!
