[ITT: Ideas for Destiny missions] Serious question!

How would you make Destiny's missions different? I'm only referring to story missions and patrols, not strikes, not raids, not pvp, not the story itself. I am purely asking about the missions. I've heard a lot of complaints about the missions being repetitive. Tell Bungie how you would change it! Background:
I've heard a lot of people complaining about how there are so many typical missions. Go to this door and defend while the ghost unlocks the door. Go to this area and kill this enemy to pick up certain things. Go this thing and let the ghost analyze it while you defend enemies. And so many people have called it repetitive and stupid but have provided no indication of how to make it different.
Please keep it civil. It is clear to me that Bungie either a) catered to a lower intelligence for the missions or b) didn't want to throw too much caution to the wind and go out on a limb. This is your place to tell them how far is too far. What makes a mission unique and what makes it repetitive? Edit: Cool stuff so far! -Missions involving vehicles -Missions where you have to use different major skills or gun classes, i.e., sniping missions, sneaking missions, stuff like that -Missions with Ketch or dropships moving and you have to go alongside it and shoot parts of the ship off. -Protect moving convoys -Complexity in general is a plus, might be something like a system of levers with Portal-style mechanics or Zelda-type switch timers. I'm sure we don't want to make Destiny a platformer, but these things sound like good ideas! -And... leprechauns...? Edit2: It sounds to be like in general, players are just looking for more motion. Something where your mission revolves around run-n-gun with a high priority target in motion around you keeping the scenery moving while you have an eliminate the target-style main mission. Hopefully we see some of this coming up! Keep adding stuff! Edit3: More and different AI. Instead of faceless rebel leaders getting their monkies to find scrap or bring about a new government, how about outposts, heavily armed with mechanics working on ships and new weaponry and armor, just for aesthetics of course. Patrols, missions, and even quests can be centered around faction outposts given the personality of each faction (thinking a shack near a bunch of broken down cars or ship for Dead Orbit (Skywatch?), an underground cave castle for New Monarchy (just past forgotton shores?), and a broken down graffiti-strewn building for FWC (the one near the loot cave, maybe?)). New ones could be introduced like Cryptarchs on Venus (the academy of course) or Iron Banner near the exclusion zone for mars. They could even be HQ's with a quartermaster and specific patrols and bounty-style missions. Possibly even instanced missions of hoard mode or something. In general more AI. Barren wastlelands have become cliched.

I think they could take a lot of pages from the Halo story mission designs. The entire finale mission was driving a Warthog as the place was crumbling around you, which was cool. They had the twist of playing as the Arbiter in Halo 2. Banshee dog fight missions. Missions where you blew stuff up riding around in Scorpions. The sniping mission of Truth and Reconciliation. Stuff like that. The only mission in Destiny where they sort of mixed things up was the Sword of Crota.
