Lol I've flamed about this a many a time. I get that we live in a watered down, hypersensitive world where it's taboo to leave anyone with hurt feelings, and that consolation prizes and participation trophies are all the rage now. But an exotic weapon is not a participation trophy, it's the freaking World Cup! You wanna let the bottom 3 have a blue engram, fine. Strange coin or more of light, sure. But for guys in the bottom 3 to get hawkmoon (been in 3 games where this happened) or the Multi Tool (been in a game where a guy went 4-17 and got this) is just ridiculous. The sheer absurdity of it is why I largely stay away from crucible these days.

One time i was second to last and got a legendary engram. It turned out the be the culling machine gun. I honestly don't deserve to get it like that. Before that i saw someone else get an exotic (the last word) and he did mediocre. But the person didnt deserve it either.
