I do find this absolutely weak! I love belonging to New Monarchy and showing loyalty to my faction. But when I get raid armor or exotics, I replace my faction armor based off of stats alone.
If I was able to shade my armor with New Monarchy colors, or even be able to add color and symbol to equipped armor.

You can. I saw a guy today hit level 9 on his Monarchy and got a custom red/white shader. Basically like Chatterwhite but with red pants and shirt and white gown.

So ranking up my New Monarchy rep will unlock a faction shader? This is news to me...

Yes it will. Its hit and miss though and so random. That guy was level 9 and I heard some folks are at 15 and still no shader. I am about to hit 6 on Dead Orbit and nada yet. I am at 12 or 13 on Vanguard and already got two shaders but they are plain jane common. lol For new Monarchy level up it is Nefertiti AK. This is a Legendary shader which is of course white and red.
