Corporations don't actually exist in the Destiny world any more, there's hardly anything left of human civilization at all. But an organization is paying you to do your Guardian thing while wearing their logo.

They only give me faction reputation points that allow me to buy stuff from them. Which is the same I'd get from vanguard/crucible if I didn't choose a faction. Now, if The Nine gave me exotics directly in exchange for wearing a hunter cloak with www.xursgenuineearnedexotics.com written on it whilst killing the darkness or owning nubs, then that would be a lot closer to corporate sponsorship. :p

Well they send you packages in the mail with free stuff when your reputation hits certain milestones, but I see your point.
