This post is encouraging an annoying and dumb playstyle.
There is literally no reason to kill every mob in the strike. (Unless you've never done the strike before and want to see the story. But SPOILER ALERT: there is no story.)
"But I don't wanna miss a legendary drop!"... It's RNG... The 50 mobs you waste time killing have the same drop chance as the 10 mobs I kill in 5 strikes.
The gear is at the end.
The xp bonus is at the end.
If you're doing a # to kill bounty just do multiple strikes. It'll take almost the same amount of time and you've increased your gear drop chances.
There is no excuse for everyone not running. No one can dispute this logically, only with "but I like to kill everything, it's my playstyle. I hate these runners."
Get over yourself. You're either 12 or you haven't played the game long enough to know what it is, a grind. Now maximize it and get to running.

My answer to that is this: what? Need to get off soon because daddy will spank your ass for being up late?
-
I will be sure not to run when I see you on the list.
-
Here's your logical dispute ... It takes more time to load into 5 different strikes and find players then to play the rush style added to that the time to kill the boss then it does to kill the mobs while on your way to the boss. Now I'm not talking about the MIBs where u immediately spawn at I'm talking about the next room over or darkness zone.

Maybe people like to have some modicum of fun with grinding strikes? I know the concept must be horrifically foreign to you, but some people have this misguided idea that you are allowed to have fun playing a game.

Edited by Jack0O7: 11/5/2014 8:31:47 PMI like how these now it alls don't have an L30 character. And their Grimore scores are anemic.AND a terrible strike K/D!
-
Of course someone who kills all the trash mobs is gonna have a higher strike K/D than someone who runs. You're loading up on killing a bunch of useless enemies that have as much chance killing you as your character just spontaneously combusting to its death.

>buys FPS >doesn't shoot anything
-
What's a now it all?
-
Ask your mom
-
She didn't know, should I ask your mom now?
-
You also level up gear faster by killing enemies you know. Especially with nightfall xp boost
-
Very true. I just picked up Fate Bringer, Thorn, and Atheon's Epilogue. Expect to see me throttling back for a few strikes soaking up the BOOM *headshots*! Cheers bro.
-
Not everyone needs to play in this style. Sometimes I like to rush and sometimes I like to kick back and just play the game. Who's to tell me I'm wrong.
-
I enjoy killing aliens. Lots of aliens. Especially with the firefly scout rifle. Run if you want, but I will be killing for my own personal amusement.
-
Who gives a shit about loot, it's fun for me to play the game and not skip the mobs. I enjoy shooting shit, not running past it.
-
Nobody is stopping you from having your fun sir...take all day. Just understand there are people that just want the rewards and people like myself that don't even care if you're there or not. I can run all the tiger strikes solo, but I don't get the option to run them solo lol.
-
That was in response to him saying playing the game and not skipping stuff is an annoying and dumb playstyle.

Edited by Sgt Cabose: 11/5/2014 7:23:23 PMWell that's one perspective. I wouldn't say it's encouraging the play style. Look at the poll. A 3rd of the players reading this already do it. They prefer it. Your affixing your conceptual idea of fun and reward on the entire population without considering anything but your own perspective. Your response is the exact reason why I made the poll in the first place. I'm trying to make this gap in play style public knowledge. To those like yourself that are very aggressive efficiency gamers (not a bad thing), you're not the only one playing. If we teamed up id be right there with you, but some players just want to take their time... It's life man. The harder you fight it the more frustrating it will be. Ever try to convince someone that their favorite show should be the same as your favorite show? Your level of "reason/logic" only goes so far.

Edited by firstDead: 11/5/2014 6:43:48 PMBut I want to have fun while doing the strikes, meaning shooting at things, the game's a grind already and the gunplay in destiny is the best I've seen in any fps.
-
You don't play fps then
-
Edited by splattherpunk: 11/5/2014 6:28:05 PMNo, there is a reason to want to kill a lot of enemies. To level up your gear. In speed runs I get less gear xp then I would if Ieliminate the enemies in the strike.
-
Bounties are faster. Do those.
-
Edited by splattherpunk: 11/5/2014 6:36:12 PMA bounty will help me level up Atheon's Epilogue? I'm just asking. If I'm doing it wrong I'd like to know. I am under the impression that to unlock weapon upgrades for my equipped AR I need to shoot things with it, right? The higher the level and more of them would seem like the best way to do that.
-
It will take ages to upgrade your gear and weapons by killing stuff.when you turn in bounties the xp goes straight to whatever your leveling
-
Thanks. I didn't know that.
