I kinda go with the flow... But I like to say 'completionist', though if someone starts running through, I don't mind and do the same.
What I can't stand is 'runners' that die because they think they're hot shit. When I run, I usually stop to kill a few mobs if there's too many in my way, unlike those that try to jump over or whatever... And die trying.
And yes: idlers=twats. Big bushy, stinky, snatches they are. The whole lot of them.

This is kinda what I do. For the most part I sparrow past mobs to the darkness zones, but if they're actually in my way, blocking the path to the darkness zone, I'll stop and kill them rather than trying to jump over them or whatever. Like on the Valis Ta'Aruk (or however it's pronounced) strike, there are two points where you have to enter a cabal controlled building through a choke point being guarded by mobs (once near the beginning before you get into the "feels like a trap" tunnel, and once near the end before you get to the boss's room). At those points' I'll take the time to kill the mobs so I can get through safely, rather than risk getting killed by a lucky melee hit while light switch is on or something. But otherwise I don't bother with random adds.
