Alright so I and many other Xbox One owners feel cheated here when it comes to the "Expansion Pass" which most of us may already own. See me personally I bought the expansion pass via Microsoft Credit on my Microsoft account so the licence for the content is on my Gamertag. Yet when I go to play on the Xbox 360 on the same Gamertag it is saying to repurchase this expansion pass which I and so many others completely find to be not right or fair to make anyone do. We feel where as we already bought it for one platform we should be entitled to it free on the other where as we already fished out for the game twice and the DLC once. So all in all that ranges from $100 - $105 depending on which version you bought not including tax. So to make someone pay out way over $200 for a game is a bit ridiculous on any game companies part and needs to be fixed and addressed.

The Digital Upgrade program does apply to the Expansion Pass. You must purchase the expansion on the 360 then you will get it for free on the XBOX ONE. This does not work the other way around. This is the same for the PS3 and PS4 upgrades. http://www.destinythegame.com/digital-upgrade

I was about to ask a question about the expansion pass. I bought the Ghost edition for my Xbox One assuming that since the characters can be used on both the Xbox One and 360 on your Live account, the DLC should too. When I bought the 360 version of the game, none of the Ghost edition content can be used while on the 360 version. And the content and expansion pass doesn't pop up on the 360's download history since it was redeemed on the Xbox One. And I had the Ghost Edition for my Xbox One pre-ordered before Bungie announced the 360/PS3 free digital next gen upgrade for Destiny. I had also called Xbox Support about this and they pretty much said to wait when the expansion pass comes out and call back if the expansion pass and other Ghost content from the Xbox One still doesn't work on the 360. If the problem is the same for PS4 Ghost buyers who also have the PS3 version, then it has to be on Bungie and/or Activision. I know that Playstation has had cross platform game purchasing for a while. My wonder is if the gear and weapons you get from playing the expansion on one system with the content will work on the system that doesn't have the expansion content. If not, I'll be mad.

Games that are on multiple generations of a console always require repurchase if you want both versions. The fact that they have the free digital upgrade is already going beyond what most companies do.
-
No they shouldn't. Its your -blam!-ing choice to play it on another console. Either rage and don't buy it or suck it up and buy it. But just shut the -blam!- up with your stupidity.

Because you already paid an extra 100 for an inferior system, I'd milk you too

I was about to make a topic on this myself then stumbled across this one. I bought an XB1 and Destiny bundle with the expansion pass, then got the 360 version a few weeks later when I learned that my friends wouldn't be able to afford the new console just yet. Do I seriously have to buy the DLC again on the 360 so I can actually play with my friends? I've already bought the game twice, I don't want to burn a hole in my pocket by buying the DLC twice too, that's ridiculous. I know this is probably more under the control of Microsoft but could you please look into this, Bungie?

They said cross gen. You can get it free for next gen as an upgrade if you buy it for the 360 or ps3 digitally. They did not say if you pre-ordered the limited or ghost edition for next gen that your content would not be accessible on last gen. If it can read my license from the 360 to xb1 why not the other way around. That is not cross gen, it is forwards gen. So for the next 10 years or how ever long the game runs for, if you plan on playing on both you will need to buy all dlc for 360 or ps3. I shouldn't be this complicated. I bought it for both just so i could get the ghost. That is $149.99 for the Ghosts edition and then $59.99 for the standard........$210.00 before tax and cant have my content on 360!

You don't have to buy it twice, it follows you between 360 and XB1. That's what Bungie claimed anyway. It probably will be messed up until the content is released. These marketplaces aren't that smart after all.

Ochi - wait until the expansion is out. XBL often has issues displaying future content which you have already purchased. This isn't a Bungie issue but an XBL one. When the expansion comes out, it should start downloading automatically. Do not repurchase it. JTS

Edited by VisageOfAnAngel: 11/6/2014 12:07:05 AMThat's why you buy on the 360 and "upgrade" for free. You get the expansion pass on both systems that way... same goes with the actual game. Microsoft promoted the Hell out of that. Edit: Same deal goes for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
