Dude this is not to mess with you get some legendary weapons raise you character at least level 27-28 or you wont be doing any significant damage to the Vex. When you do your first raid get someone to show you how it's done thanks to random teleport when facing Atheon (last boss) you will end up holding shield. To get better weapons and armour grind Vanguard do strikes do crucible to unlock better equipment (100 marks is limit a week for both) when you do look me up when I'm at home I pretty much play it all the time my PSN is big_dan76 if I can I'll help oh and you get rewards from factions (vanguard crucible and so on) once you turn level 3 with them.
