Was anyone else expecting the multiplayer to be more like the ranking system of halo 3? That disappoints me more than anything else in the game. Getting to level 30 isn't even rewarding. It's just a matter of having enough friends that play the game and putting in enough hours. When you achieved 50 highest skill on halo 3 that felt rewarding. Why? Because it was based on how good you were at the game. What happened to games rewarding you for your skill and not how much free time you have? I know only the best halo 3 players out there that have played both halo 3 and destiny will understand where I'm coming from. Thoughts from you guys?

Two completely different types of games. Halo is a fps, straight and simple. So you're going to have a rank system for multiplayer. Destiny is an rpg/fps. Leveling up from experience is a key to all rpg's. Grinding & farming are almost a huge part of any rpg. You'd never be able to beat ruby or emerald weapon in ff7 without hours of level grinding and getting better weapons & gear. That's just one example out of many. If you want a great rank system like halo produced. Wait for halo 5 to come out, hopefully it delivers. But destiny's level system is spot on for the game type that it is.

Epic comeback very true. I guess since bungie was in on the game I was hoping for some similarities. And I don't think halo 5 is coming out for ps4 is it? I don't own and xb1. Oh well, maybe a game with a ranked system will come out soon. Those have always been my favorite.

I don't think it will be. Microsoft owns halo now, that's why bungie is no longer associated with halo, and why destiny is on multiple consoles. I do agree about the multiplayer. Halo 3, almost all I played was multiplayer. I was hoping destiny would be similar, but I hardly find myself playing the crucible, mainly I'm only in there to complete an exotic bounty. I really wanted a swat mode dang it

Haha swat with brs was epic. And I agree I almost never play crucible either. It's sad because that's one of the main reasons I bought the game.

Exactly, I actually had no idea that the game was an rpg as well until I started playing. My buddy convinced me to get it, I thought I was gonna just be playing multiplayer all the time like halo.. Nooope! Haha, I enjoy the game though, I'm big on rpg's as well so I'm not disappointed. Just wish they'd fix all the bugs, especially in the raid

I was thinking either Halo 3s or Halo 2s ranking system. I liked halo 2s a little better cause each game type had it's own rank, and you could loose rank easier than you could gain at higher levels which made it very competitive. But yea like you said, not having some sort of ranked PvP system makes PvP very dull and unrewarding
