Yes, but the surprising part is they were all Japanese movies. [i]そして父になる[/i] (soshite chichi ni naru/And so I become my father) was a very emotional film. It wasn't sappy or anything like that it just hit you right in the feels and it hit hard. Then there was [i]The Ballad of Narayama[/i]. Which is the most depraved, barbaric movie I've ever seen, but the ending to which has such great human emotion in it, it's hard not to cry. I scoff at Japanese movies nowadays, but these were fantastic.

I watched a japanese documentary about a salaryman who had gotten cancer right after he retired. We watched the family say their goodbyes and even the wife begging him not to leave her so soon, -blam!-ing sad as hell
