Mission 2: The Ruin In order to reach the Fox Hole, the Guardian must pass a test. They are to delve into The Ruins and find relics that cannot be tracked by your ghost until you destroy both the Fallen anti-aircraft ballistae and the stop the Hive's ritual which disrupts Light and therefore your ghost's ability to locate the relics. After these trials are completed, the Guardian returns to The Crow's Nest, only to see it being attacked by both the Fallen House of the Mad and the Hive Heretics. After rescuing the Crow's Nest and Eyeball (who I think should be a young girl), the Guardian witnesses a ritual that transforms the relic pieces into beacons. These beacons can be seen from space, and will guide you and your ship to the Fox Hole's entrance and the Crow's Nest (which becomes accessible to land in). After a brief conversation, Eyeball returns to her Nest and the Guardian is free to head towards the Fox Hole.
