I would agree if it took place in America not some small measly little island country with incredibly limited resources of its own and not much land I mean wouldn't the aliens want a larger country to deploy from isn't that why they are in Russia?

Kind of agree in the sense of why Britain? (I'm guessing your from there) but I would be alot more interested to explore the rest of the solar system maybe even an asteroid. Nevertheless still a really good premise man.

Think about it strategically it is an island, if they lock it down they have a perfectly secure base and a great launching point into continental Europe.

Yeah maybe in the 1700s it would of been great because it's an island but with modern combat, equipment,tactics,and weaponry it's a death trap that could be easily cut off and surrounded WW2 Germany severed The UKs connection and almost starved them to death if it wasn't for America sending literally boat loads of supplies daily they would have lost and that all happened 70 years ago and destiny takes place far into the future the island nation would easily get stomped out no offense to Britain but that's the truth of it

This is true, but based on the current state of the earth there isn't much military resistance, so once you secure your HQ which will have a lovely pre built moat, then go in and expand, also who says they would be short on supplies the cabal are a galactic empire they undoubtedly have the supplies to take one planet.

Yeah that's why they can't even hold mars against the vex and oh yeah I forgot they havnt even been able to expand past mars they control only one planet so if they had to fly their ships all the way through hostile space to launch a military operation with no resupply links or Forward operating bases along that way I think they would run into suppy issues

Okay think of it this way, you have a large fortress with walls, but as an extra deterrent you build a moat. The whole point of an island base is that it would easy to defend. The vex don't have ships that we know of and the fallen fleet is probably far to small to contend with the cabal's massive war ships.

Plus an invasion the size your talking about the entire Western Hemisphere could be an island why would they pick such a geographically small launch point

Yes I understand that look at the Spartans and king Leonidas with all that power and troops the country is to small for a force size the cabal would deploy in order to take earth you can have a massive army but if you can only deploy small parts of it at ounce it will fail plus resources, they may be alien but I'm sure they still utilize foreign resources if you bombed and launched strikes against the interior of the island you would begin to amass enemy casualties and never under estimate the enemy the cabal are barely holding one planet the fallen have a tight grip on 3

The Spartans had the Athenian navy supporting them as well as several thousand other troops. And they still failed. The point is in WW2 the main reason other then US support that the British survived is 1 they had a better airforce the royal airforce outgunned the Luftwaffe and their navy which secured the only way to transport hundreds of thousands of land forces at once.

Wouldn't Australia be a better place for them to build a base and have a staging ground to assault the last city, I mean yes London has a natural defense but the cabal could land multiple cruisers there ( not saying London/Britain is to small for their ships ) Australia would also provide a larger play space do to sheer land mass. ( and before you assume I'm Australian, I'm Canadian so I'm not biased eh)
