People don't play a strike to get drops from adds but to finish and get the post-game rewards.
LMAO! These comments of yours are comedy gold! How the do you know the reasons for why people do strikes? This is just an uninformed statement.
Sure, engrams drop from enemies on patrol, but one encounters considerably more enemies while doing a strike and so the odds of engrams dropping is also considerably higher. I speak from experience, but this is just plain logic. It's also something you would know if you bothered killing all those adds that are starving for your attention. Not to mention the guaranteed rewards at the end. You make it sound as though strikes are designed for people with the 'runner' mentality. But if that were the case, then strikes would be designed so that you could just go from the beginning to the boss without hitting any checkpoints (the devil walker, the cabal guards, the hellmouth gate etc.).
If being a runner is your thing, I won't try to stop you either. But in a game where a fireteam is composed of random people, and you want to skip all the way to the end, you aren't a good team player at all. If a team mate goes down in a spot that you shamelessly skipped past, you can't revive him. And if YOU die in a respawn restricted zone while being the only one there, then the whole team gets wiped.
