You're lying to yourself if you think you "earned" an exotic without doing an exotic bounty. Being lucky through rng doesn't count as earning.

Exotic bounties are random as well lol

But at least they have specific tasks that take a little while, and you KNOW you will get that weapon after you're finished. It's luck to get the bounty in the first place, though.
