Foreword:
The thread about Titans is giving genuine thanks and praise. I really didn't like them at first, but I was ignorant. This thread about Hunters and Hunter players is more a sort of profile or review on their general characteristics. I feel that each class has its own merits and that the players in general have some good qualities and noticeable foibles about them.
I don't actually hate Hunters. I play a Hunter myself.
Hunters are well known for their less desirable traits.
Some are loud and headstrong. Full of themselves.
On the forums they are rash, brash, vocal and stubborn.
Others are quiet and introvert. Selfishly ignoring all others. Lone wolves until the end.
In PvE, Hunter players are seen as useless. They contribute little to the team effort and they go down easily. The better equipped, stronger classed and more rational players are forced to take damage as they find a way to rescue them. No doubt facepalming at the same time, wondering why the Hunter player isn't using his mic and how he could be so stupid to go running into the horde for one or two melee kills.
In PvP, Hunters are sniping you from across the map and blink jumping all over the place and they seem to have an endless and unstoppable arc blade super. The Hunter is seen as an annoyance. A house fly. Nobody can stand to be around them. In their own arrogance, they can't even stand each other.
Hunters are often thought to be the noob class. The Golden Gun super has so much aim assist that its very difficult to miss. The Arc Blade can be seen as a simply mash and win super.
But there is a little bit more depth to the Hunter than at first meets the eye...
Hunters are probably the class with the highest learning curve. Masters of the Hunter are the most skilled of players.
Hunters appear to have a light in them that burns brighter and fiercer than the other classes. In that fashionable cloak of theirs, they are like wolves in sheep's clothing.
Hunter players are perhaps the most dedicated members of the community. Sinking many hours into the game - I have seen more level 30 Hunters than any other class.
Eager to complete any bounty or task, rarely do you see a Hunter complain about grinding. They thoroughly explore and inspect the world that they inhabit. They relish discovery.
Though Hunters are highly experienced and very knowledgeable on the game, their high emotions can often block them from forming constructive and well laid out posts in their arguments on the forums.
Many guardians of the other two classes often dismiss the Hunters' opinions and ideas. Thinking them to be naive and childish. This is a mistake.
The few who actually take the time to listen and make sense of the Hunter - soon reach a much deeper understanding of Destiny and of the burdens and frustrations that Hunters have to bear.
Hunters are most frustrated when they feel that they have reached their peak and that they cannot advance any further. This can be because they have maxed their skills, character or weapon. Or simply because Bungie has restricted access to a part of the game or failed to capitalize on an opportunity.
Hunters want what is best for themselves. But whether knowingly or not, what is best for a Hunter is also best for everyone. Hunters are brimming with ideas that add longevity to the game.
In PvE, Hunters specialize in removing enemy shields from a distance. They soften up the mobs for the Titans and Warlocks to finish off. They lay down covering fire while other classes seek better positioning. They are the medics who revive fallen team mates by using their invisibility.
In the raid they are certainly not useless. Their Golden Gun is the biggest threat to Oracles, Hobgoblin Snipers, Supplicants and portal mobs Their speed and agility makes them the perfect Relic holders.
Hunters are not able to Cheese bosses. Nor do they wish to. Hunters shun those who shy away from hard work.
In PvP, the Hunter's Arc Blade super must be set up in advance. The kills to come must be calculated and anticipated. Hunters are able to think ahead and almost play Destiny as if it were Chess. Hunter players must be able to perform under pressure and score consistent headshots whilst under fire.
The skills of a good Hunter are obtained only through undergoing many grueling and painstaking hours of practice, trial and error.
Is it any wonder then, that Hunters are proud and boastful? Few guardians have the Patience and Time to acquire the dexterity of a skilled Hunter.
Hunters players are the most passionate people in our community. They wear their hearts on their sleeves. Hunters let it all hang out. They will not be silenced. They are never afraid to stand up to injustice and speak their minds.
The biggest thread starters, fan art creators, story tellers and youtubers are all Hunters.
Hunters call things as they are. They are not afraid to hurt your feelings. They are not afraid to call you out or challenge you. They are brutally honest.
Hunter players can be easily hurt and become easily upset. They are emotional glass cannons. Perhaps this is why they pick a glass cannon class in the game.
Hunters strive to be the best at everything. They train hard in precision weapons. They don't just want to get a kill. They want to do it in style and look their best while they are at it.
Hunters are very aware of their surroundings and they do their best to make use of whatever they have. They have mastered the art of manipulating the radar. Just as they have mastered the art of manipulating your emotions.
Hunters are risk takers. They won't fold on a bad hand. They will play their cards and hope for the best.
People who play the Hunter always seem to be able to see things in ways that others cannot. They are able to adapt very quickly to changes in the environment and in people's behaviour. They are very perceptive people. They may act immaturely but they have the intellect and experience of one who has traveled around the world.
Hunters like to challenge themselves. Determined and bloodthirsty; they are always striving for the most kills, always looking for the best weapons. The best farming runs. The quickest routes.
Hunters value efficiency.
Almost all of the glitches that have been found in the game have been discovered by Hunters.
Here are just a few examples of where Hunter players have excelled:
Did you see the Sparrow Surfing video? That was a Hunter.
Jumping the Helmouth? Hunter.
Scariest Super? Hunter.
Destiny Vault of Glass Solo Oracles? Hunter.
Hunters are trailblazers and trendsetters.
Hunters are inventors and innovators.
Hunters can never make up their mind which shader and emblem they want to use because they see beauty, creativity and opportunity in everything.
People who play as Hunters are bittersweet and fickle.
You either love them or hate them.
They know that they can't please the whole world. They gave up trying to a long time ago.
However, I would say that they are the most confident players and you won't find anybody more honest and frank than a Hunter.
This, coming from a Warlock and Hunter player, and a Thorny Guardian.
See you all Starside.

...until I took a Golden Gun to the knee

That was a fantastic read! Thank you guardian. You helped me understand myself more as a Hunter.
-
Strangely enough I do play PVP like chess People move just like npcs except with slightly skewed objectives and ideals. But still fall to habit. and It's my habit to hunt them and predict their moves And In PVE I hunt for the beauty of the enemies who die from crits. and revive teamates so we can kill more efficiently

oh the feels

Can someone do this for warlocks so I feel special too?
-
Good read, thanks for that!

Yes...The Arc Blade is comparable to chess...

#TitanMasterRace

Hunter master race.
-
All lies. They suck.
-
While you were writing that, I was arc blading the hell out of others, and being 'useless' in pve.
-
Preferred the titan one.
-
*slow clap* Beautiful. Someone put how I felt into context.
-
tl;dr hunters are worst class
-
Don't really understand these trending topics... is this suppose to be like a Zodiac thing now with these 3 classes?
-
This makes no sense. All classes are equal besides supers. I have one of each class so I know.

CLIMBING UP THE TOPSAILS I LOST MY LEG Sorry, excited to see them next wednesday.
-
You somehow described me better than i ever could...

See the difference between this post and the Titan post is that you are already a -blam!-ing hunter. Of course you -blam!-ing love the class. This post is a rehash of what the Titan post was because: 1. Titans are underrated. That post actually made me think about my Titan, and I got him to 30. 2. Everyone talks about the Hunter on this forum. This post basically the pros and cons or why it does or doesn't need nerf. I understand what you tried to do but the gesture was pointless and made even more absurd by the bias or you -blam!-ing playing as this -blam!-ing class.
When I read the title I honestly thought it was the maker of the OP being a troll. I expected to tap on it and read, "and I still do"
Thank you for your intelligence. It's people like you that make destiny tolerable. I am an avid fan of destiny and have been since they announced it. If it was only for the goons who say, "hunters are noobs because they only camp" or whatever, I would certainly have lost my patience. My original character was a Titan and then I made a warlock. I swore to myself that I would never make a Hunter because... Honestly? I have no good reason why. But that is the way it was. Then I made my first Hunter, I am still working in leveling it up, but I can say, I have had immense amounts of fun learning what it takes to be able to pilot such a class. I have played all three classes now, quite a bit, and I say that no class is superior to another, each has it's own strengths and weaknesses that make it enjoyable. And that is the reason I urge anyone who absolutely hates one or two classes, to try them out. And hit twenty with them and test out their play styles with your own styles. Who knows, you might enjoy it. :)

That.was.beutiful:). 23/10. I'm in tears

I read the first bit and I was getting all worked up, but then I carried on reading and then I'm like "yeah, thats me!"
