It all boils down to playing the class wisely respective to the encounter. I know plenty of players, regardless of class, that don't utilize their skill tree or the fight mechanics to optimize their advantages, esp during the Atheon encounter.

I agree. Only after utilizing Sunsinger to the absolute fullest, did I feel like I had truly mastered my skills. Even though I started as a VoidWalker, I am a much better Sunsinger then I ever was a Voidwalker, because I use every ability to it's fullest. I am Legend. lol, had to throw that last part in, because, well.... you know
