Please give the people what we all want An actual story. Describe the hive and their origins and history. How the came to be, there was plenty of player fanfiction going on before the beta if you can't think of anything. Give us a cutscene that details crota and his origins. Make this dlc and it's missions long enough to weave a good tale. From the bottom of our hearts, to you bungie

  • Of course you are going to pay for it. People have to make a living too. They don't put out games for free. Stop bitching about paying for shit. If you cannot look past convention or stop being a jerk about the situation then quit the game now cause no matter what you do, you will always pay for games and quality takes money. Without the money, you wouldn't get anything. Support them and they will return it. This is legit, not some stupid browser game that jips you. I feel like you didn't even think about the situation and just like to yell because your expectations clouded the reality of creating a long, deep story that doesn't kill itself after its opening.

  • It's the dark souls affect, you gotta read item descriptions for the lore, and small bits and pieces will be given to you if your observant enough, remember this and investigate that lame blue you found in the crucible or that strike. May be something interesting, like my fav AR the Problem78F

  • What's 'AR the Problem78F'? I haven't got all the grimoire cards yet, so I don't know if that's one of them or something else.

It's an In-game auto rifle, it says (if I recall correctly) something about the Cabal labeling a high performance Auto Rifle "Problem78F". Or something along those lines, it's a pretty good auto rifle for having a low magazine capacity. AR the Problem78F is referring to "AR" auto rifle, and refers to leading up to its name, and "Problem78F" is its name.

  • That makes sense, thank you for taking the time to explain. Is funny now I understand; "Cabal A: What happened to Primus Sha'ull?" "Cabal B: Problem78F, Don't go out their........alot of holes, it's messy."

  • Yes we do want that but again, we have no idea how deep their origins actually run. I think we are being too impatient based on expectations suppose the root of the Hive don't actually start from this so called "god" but from something else entirely that they are not ready to reveal. But I do agree, we need to learn more about them. Or maybe just pay more attention to the information they give us through the battles at hand. Dinkledge (however you spell his name) says an aweful lot in the game

  • Yes you're right if you pick up some of his lines he actually kinda describes the fallen and possibly some hive details but nonetheless they should add and i hope they add alot more to the origins and story if they want this game to last as long as they say they say it will

  • Yeah, most of use want everything at once but for it to last, it's spoon fulls of information we will get. Who knows the origins of everything? What I took the stance of, in order to quell my gamer rage, is "They probably just want us to start off as being just one of the soldiers but stumble upon the vex that sends us out to what we think is the root of our issues. Please remember when we beat the game, we didn't get any credits or anything like that. We got a cutscenes that caused us to think we gained some sort of triumph. But, she said it's only the Beginning which means we did nothing but fight someone whom was placed as a decoy enemy. We are just soldiers in a massive army.

  • You are on to something big fellow guardian. I agree, there was no direct ending to it, if only the community could realize this, we could all have peace of mind. I honestly do but also hope this is the beginning of something great

  • I too hope more is explained. However, do you not understand how fast this explanation came out? How often to explanations come out this quick? I think it usually takes longer for DLC to Show up for these games. Usually it comes at least half a year later and one at a time. We are getting one 3 months later with another one being shown right after "House of Wolves" this is not a distraction, this was planned. That's why I don't REact to this stuff, I always Act on what information is given and think about how things are happening.

  • AwesomeKDPdaKing:: Your right, It is planned. I saw a vid where one of the creators was talking about how halo they just made it up with each new game (which worked halo is awesome series), but this time they wanted to plan it all out beforehand. So over five hundred million dollars and a few years wasn't spent making destiny the game it was spent preparing destiny the series. That's to say that they already know what game they are going to release in 2024. They want to tell an epic science fantasy adventure story through the interactive game medium (which has never been done) and Destiny is just the introduction, what do they do in the introduction, they introduce the setting (post apocalyptic solar system) and they briefly introduce the main characters (the alien races, the traveller, the speaker etc), sometimes stories will even introduce the key story conflict (the darkness) though often in a fairly vague manner. This game is the introduction, you don't conclude anything in the introduction, you simply set it up. Early chapters are often used to elaborate and further develop some of the characters encountered in the introduction. What is the first two chapters? "The Dark Below" & "The House of Wolves". In these we should see the characters we met in the introduction (Fallen & Hive) further developed and fleshed. Now of course, I could be wrong about this, only those behind the curtain really know and legal gag orders would mean no matter how much they want to tell everyone whats going on the consequences would not be worth it. To be honest I thought of how awesome a story played over many games would be back when I was in highschool and when I imagined how the first game in the story would look it actually fit destiny pretty well. Cause it is bad form to completely change the world in the introduction, as the reader has yet to build any emotional attachement to the world yet, so any drastic changes would seem minour. Most gamers are probably not used to this as most games have beginning, middle and end all crammed into the game, so by the time they get to the end of the game its all concluded. Which personally, makes some games filled rushed like trying to cram a 2 hour movie into a half hour. Since no significant change can occur in the setup, alot of players will feel jipped story wise as they don't feel the sense of achievement cause all they really did was meet the coworkers around the office on the first day. So yeah, Its planned and if I am right about the story, this game will be an epic they will tell their children about. That's probably why they used the grimoire card concept, they have it for the game lore scholars(gamelorists??) who would otherwise just leave the game if it had no lore while keeping the shooters, players & casuals primarily in the dark till it comes time to unveil that aspect of the story. I could be wrong, but I hope I am right cause to be honest I never thought any game company would be brave enough to even try, cause it is high risk, cause the early chapters have go against traditional game design wisdom. Which could see large portions of players leave after the first chapter and not return for the later chapters. Personally I can't wait to get better acquainted with the hive & fallen characters, when the dlc comes out.
