If it has all the same rights and legal benefits of marriage, why call it something else?
English
-
why call 2 2 if you can call it 1 since they're both real numbers?
-
But those aren't the same. It's like calling 2 "two" and "five minus 3." It's entirely pointless to call it something else.
-
and marriage and domestic partnership aren't the same either so what's your point?
-
But if people advocate for giving gay marriage a different name but all the same things as hetero marriage, why do they need a different name at all?
-
Ok so I guess I'm not getting through to you so lets try this. If two things are different but have the same or similar benefits (ex. working at McDonalds vs Burger King) then they aren't the same thing no matter what.
-
Marriage is marriage, though.

ok I'm glad you can define a word with itself
