I'd be willing to bet that the mentioned executive would not hesitate to screw gamers over if it benefited him, and that the cumulative harm caused by said screwing would outweigh any harm done to him here. I therefore do not sympathize, and laugh instead.

He could have been killed, I doubt anything he could do to the gaming world would kill us

I read an article that said it was seen as a hostage situation. If so the police would never just run in guns drawn. I would think they would actually take the time to assess the situation before hand. In fact even if it wasn't I would like to hope Police would assess every situation before acting. Tis a pipe dream.

You are right, but at some point the impact of minor injustices done to millions begins to outweigh major injustices done to a single person. And he was not killed. If he had been, my argument would probably be different, but as is I'm betting that the evil he's participated in is greater than the evil done to him. Doesn't mean I would sanction the SWAT attempt, but neither will I sympathize when justice is done to him.
