Who needs ammo conservation? Ammo drops regularly, and we all have stacks of ammo synth. Are you saying golden guns big appeal is you no longer need to use one of your guns? Cause that seems pretty lame. Why not just use the heavy and have a special ability that does something else? Then your heavy isn't entirely wasted?
To be fair though I never use either on oracles. I've never been in such a pinch that could be saved by dropping several oracles fast with golden gun or a heavy weapon. Vision of confluence seems to take them out just fine.
And nothing you could possibly come up with could convince me that warlocks self Rez isn't the bee's knees. "False confidence" or not, it works. If you don't play any sloppier, which I assume at least some wouldn't, you'd have a great player with a fail safe.
I'm not saying hunters are useless, I'm not even saying they aren't useful, I'm just saying the other classes, especially a sunsinger, is more useful in the raid.

We are referring to atheon, not the entire raid, you do not or at least should not be scavenging for ammo or digging through your inventory for your synth. You should be prepared. So having full rockets/secondary is key to a quick easy hard atheon kill. So! This means on oracles, having a free kill/primary ammo to waste is ideal. Two hunters can do oracles without using anything but golden guns. While you are wasting everything on them, you did mention heavy weapons after all. Plus your special recharges immediately during vengeance. Titans are not need at all in the raid, warlocks only offer a temp solution to playing sloppy which most warlocks do. Because you have that extra life, you care little until you die then you start putting in effort.

I've never really had too much of an issue with ammo fighting atheon. It just doesn't seem like something worth having a special relegated to fixing. And again you broadly generalize the warlocks. They can't all be sloppy.

Come on, we all know y'all pander about shooting, acting hard and taking damage. Then die, revive and run away from the fight. EVERYONE knows that. I'm just stating facts, not generalizing anything. Maybe, just maybe a handful aren't sloppy players, but I mean a handful. As opposed to every hunter who's completed a legit hard raid.

You continue to generalize and defend hunters for no better reason than it's the class you like. Like there aren't sloppy hunters? You called me sloppy, and my main is a hunter. Maybe you should give the other classes a serious shot. And not be so "classist". :p

I have a Titan on a separate account, and plan on making a lock. I'm just stating a fact. I defend them because they are always frowned upon, so much that they are being kicked from raids (prolly because they aren't holding there own) but I digress, I'm classiest, you have me there. I love the hunter. And my cape rocks.
