So, my title is presumptuous. I know. I made it that way to catch your eye. Don't worry. I'm no braggart.
So as I sit in my car typing this from XXXXXX in XXX I am laughing at my own jokes, and decide to begin my own story.
The Hive- death, decay, basically an animated disease. They have ranks indicative of a cult who worship a god(s) fanatically- Acolyte and Wizard first and foremost. The rank Thrall, however, is indicative of Old Norse society- a slave captured on a raid was called a thrall. So it seems as though they are basically worth nothing to the Hive god- similar to Japanese kamikazes in World War II. These parallels made, Ogres are straight out of Norse myth, albeit next to no resemblance. They seem to be of an even higher "cult" ranking than Wizards- the yellow health bar and special names and titles show that they may be the pinnacle of Hive war society. Wizards are easily recognizable from any mythology, most especially Norse. Acolytes aren't exactly placable, no theory there. Knights... I don't know- Hive lifestyle is centered around them. Think a second- Swarm Princes, guardian of The World's Grave, all Knights. Later on them. There isn't much more I know, so I think I should get into a real theory.
Oryx- the famed Hive general mentioned in the Grimoire. He was, I believe, a Knight. And he is the Speaker.
Let that sink in. Good?
Good.
Yes, I said it. It's true. The Speaker's mask is designed to hide an identity, as well as the turban like hood and voluminous robes he wears that may reach out to say "Hey- Cult Member Here!" With this in mind, I will end the chapter. More tomorrow.

Edited by Prime: 11/11/2014 10:13:49 PMCrota is more like a very high ranking knight. Maybe the one in charge of the entire invasion in our solar system. He only has one temple dedicated to him (comparable to some churches named after saints.) But he is definitely not a god. The "God" or supreme leader of the Hive has to be Oryx. Mentioned by our ghost, this thing resides somewhere far beyond the edge of our system and its name is mentioned often enough in rituals to not be ignored. There is also many shrines dedicated to it scattered throughout our solar system.
