Disc Locked Content

Year after year we see that one developer - that one odd one out of the bunch who thinks they don't have to follow the norm or respect their fanbase. This year it's Bungie. You'd think after nearly a decade now of controversies on the topic of disc-based DLC they would be smart enough not to put all the content on the disc. Consider this people - the mission lists for both DLCS were uncovered - and showed to offer about 6 missions each. Priced at $35 for the 2 together - or 20 each - one has to wonder what in the heck they're paying for??? EA and Bioware's Mass Effect DLCs across the series each offered a minimum of 4 mission - not to mention 10's of thousands of dollars of voice acting which Bungie easily bypasses by having next to no dialogue - yet EA conveniently priced them $10 and under. So seriously, what the hell is going on in this studio Bungie? Where does the value of $35 entire dollars come from? Or even $20 for one???? *I feel the need to note 1 mission in Mass Effect is practically equivalent to a full 6 in Destiny* I'm asking because as of now players have broken into ATLEAST 3 areas; King's Watch, Vault of Seraphim and now Terminus - all of which are intended to be DLC areas apparently and all of which are already on the disc. So again, why am I paying you again? It looks to me like most of the work for the DLC was done a long time ago - some of these secrets were discovered in the Beta, literally meaning the DLC was partly to mostly ready before the game's release. I just don't see why you're going to so pretentiously price your DLCs when they're going to offer 1/2 the content most game's DLCs do AND we already by all means and rights technically own the DLC, as it's on our discs. Trying to take money for something we already own is a form of extortion and theft. I hate thieves, and you Bungie, are proven thieves - I severely hope you fix this, starting by refunding people who've already paid for your stupid expansions - I haven't but hell, I've already experienced 50% of what they have to offer months early anyway because of your sloppy development - and you can't deny it's sloppy or else we wouldn't be able to get into the places.

  • You're displaying a distinct lack of cognitive ability. Not only has your tired complaint been voiced dozens of times on this forum, it has been answered as well. Areas with rough textures and lighting and in one case placeholder enemies do not constitute the entirety of an expansion. Their world building tools allow for them to rough out areas very quickly, as was explained in an interview (the oft-quoted "you can go there" one) and these areas were included on disc because they represent a large chunk of data that was easy for bungie to pop onto the disc, since rough locations for missions were likely the first things nailed down in the process of generating content. They did this as a quick and easy way of saving us a lot of download time. At least you didn't post that damned video that everybody seems to think they're the first to find.
