what makes you think the Guardians we play and our objectives are "Good"? What if the other people are just trying to SURVIVE just like we are. Ultimately, it looks like everyone is just trying to kill the greatest threat to them.

  • Or maybe the traveler has visited each of them the same as it visited humans and given them world like it gave us Venus and Mars and they believe every planet the traveler visits is a gift to them. Just a thought.

  • The way I see it, the Darkness has been chasing after the Traveller, so after the Traveller has visited a world, uplifted a species, and departed to work on the next system the Darkness showed up. If the Darkness is a dark mirror of the Traveller, as Xur mentions, it might have corrupted the uplifted civilizations. That's how the Fallen and Hive ended up as they are.

  • Ooh, the more advanced they were the more they were corrupted. Evidence: hive technology is more advanced than fallen.

  • The Vex have been seeking to convert entire planets into machines and write themselves into the fundamental forces that govern the universe. That goes beyond trying to simply survive. The Cabal are conquerors. They already have other worlds under their control. If they're seeking survival, it would be easier to fortify the worlds they have instead of spreading out their forces and taking distant planets. As for the Fallen and the Hive, just take a look at the mounds of human bones that litter their lairs. That's not survival, that's genocide.

  • is that really their purpose or is that what you are led to believe?

  • When I see mounds of human bones piled up all over someone's house I tend to assume they're up to no good.

  • What if all the Guardians had to drag the bodies of the Fallen they killed back to the tower? I think we could build another tower with that pile. The only reason the Fallen collect their bones is because they don't have the luxury of body-despawning, and the fight is usually on their turf.

  • That just shows how everyone is being hunted. For both sides, it's a natural reaction that the 'threat' must be eliminated. Sharks, Lions, Snakes..

  • That's a possibility.
