Praedyth's Timepiece Needs a buff.

Hello everyone, I have all the raid weapons exept for the sniper and I can say that among all of them the pulse riffle is the weakest of them all. The hand canon: pretty awesome, one of the best hand cannons right now (at least for me) The shotgun: Decent enough. The fusion rifle: very good one, awesome impact. The heavy weapons: both rocket and machine gun are very good. the Scout riffle: Awesome. Im not sure about the sniper; but I havent heard of anyone complaining. But when it comes to the pulse riffle, it feels pretty weak, even compared to regular legendaries (I have like other 3 regular ones). It has such low impact that I have to use a full clip to kill the smalles enemies (well actually not that much, but I found myself realoading before killing some enemies a lot). So, considering most weapons from the raid (the hardest instance of the game so far) are pretty good while not being OP, I would like to see an improveMent in that particuLar weapon. What do you thinK? :)

  • IMO all pulse rifles need a buff, especially Bad Juju from what I've heard, also the FWC Conduit is pretty weak too, so is Bad Seed Down, and Super Pox Vlo. Really the only decent one is Red Death.

Have it, Maxed it. Just found a fatebringer and I'll probably shelf the timepiece now. Even fully upgraded the timepiece isnt worth the effort. It's at best a shell of the weapon it could be. Easily the worst raid gun available. Sure shot IS is the sight the timepeice should have received. I think the biggest problem with the timepiece compared to the fatebringer other than low impact (hits like a wet noodle) is the sights available. The Fatebringer has the option for a sight with superb target acquisition where the timpiece has only enhanced target acquisition. For the record the vision of confluence also has superb target acquisition and it's awesome. This makes a huge difference in how the weapon handles precision shots. Coming from a mostly PC history of FPS play I am pretty sensitive to how strong auto aim can be in modern console shooters. Any weapon with a superb target acquisition sight enabled has such strong aim assist enabled it's almost impossible to miss a critical shot. For example, enable STA on a weapon a shoot a shielded Cabal but aim for their gun... it reads immune most of the time. Why? Well because the aim assist is so strong it's attempting to hit the head behind the shield despite explicitly aiming elsewhere. It's a a treat to use but makes most OP hand cannons even better. This sight should be on the timepiece especially as the timepiece has a buff for increased critical damage when body shots have landed. Enable STA and the timepeice is worth having and bragging about. Until then it's just filler until another Arc primary is found. I prefer to use pulse riffles over hand cannons but it really feels like Bungie wants players to use hand cannons.

  • Indeed it has a low impact, but fully upgraded with high stability it is the best primary gun for weekly/nightfall with arc modifier. Last week I carried someone through nightfall while this gun was melting everything besides shanks with burn shield - I had something extra for them as well. If it had more impact I would probably use it more often, it is really nice gun.

  • Wait you wanna use a pulse rifle!? Why? All pulse rifles suck when compared to even crappy scouts or autos.

    • I think all pulse rifles need a buff, I personally will never use a pulse rifle for anything. Most guns are stronger at certain ranges or more ranges than others but pulse rifles will be beat every time by other weapons.

      • Have it, haven't fully upgraded it yet, but it has good impact and great stability so I hope you are basing it off consistently headshotting.

        • Well pulse rifles in general suck, all pulse rifles should have 36+ in the magazine and no break in firing with overall higher impact. I have used the unusual suspect, super pox VLO and bad seed down and the impact isn't as important as the magazine size, which each burst is a little more than a scout rifle and those can hold up to 29 while you only get 7 bursts out of super pox VLO? Also pulse rifles don't have a reloading break meaning you need the entire reload animation before it reloads while other weapons you can ever so slightly cut short by sprinting. I never even knew there was a VOG pulse rifle... The more you know.
