What the -blam!- is this shit? That's me, a level 30 Defender being one shotted by a level 25 Hunter in Iron Banner. That same hunter would finish in 2nd place on a team full of 29s and 30s.
I was told, explicitly, BY YOU DEEJ:
IN THIS POST:
Power. Does. Matter! (no, really)
Only players Level 20 and above can lead a Fireteam
Players below Level 20 can accompany more powerful friends
Players within 3 Levels can be competitive with each other
Your DEFENSE rating affects how you take damage
Wear your best (highest rated) armor
Players out of your league will seem like a Boss
1) Do you need help doing math? What is 30 - 25. Is it 3?
2) Do you need help with the definition of "out of your league" and "boss"?
3) Please explain why Level 25's are able to one shot level 30s, with regular weapons (nonheavy) in IB. Would it have been so hard to use a damage dampening function that ceilings at (opponentMaxHealth-%10) for the sake of making light level ACTUALLY matter? Seriously?
Bait and -blam!-ing switch dude. I resubbed my psn+ for the chance to make my raid gear shine, and now I wish I hadn't.

Edit: Because all of you are idiots
1) Yes my shot did not connect and kill the guy. At no point did I claim I wanted people to die when I looked at them because they are a lower level than me. Please feel free to spend precious moments of your life to tell me I missed, as I clearly had no idea.
2) If the light level damage dropoff curve is so pathetic in IB 2.0 that a decent shot from a non-heavy weapon is still a one-shot despite a huge level gap (>3), then your light level doesn't matter in practice. Only in theory. If it only matters in theory, this is IB 1.0
3) I typically do patrol mission bounties etc before I log out. I do not do these in my level 30 set because my level 30 set has way too much strength over disc/int thanks to rng. Is it so hard to imagine that a guy can log off in a not level 30 set and still be level 30 when he wants to?

no levels do matter i cannot kill lvl 29s and 30s easily you aren't invincable your tough get your crap together next time
-
Iron banner should be re named the fusion rifle wars
-
Jesus what a bunch of assholes in here.
-
I think it's exactly as they say it is. My best game yesterday was 47-1, absolute smashed it. This was on my main lvl 30 hunter, fully upgraded suros, found verdict and corrosive measure. Then jumped on with my warlock lvl 25 had 1 game and noticed immediately how much of a challenge it would be. Just my 2 cents! Creaps out.
-
They also stated that if a low level is using a maxed out gun, the damage is still going to be high even if they are 5 levels lower. The defense of armor but more importantly the attack of the guns matter more.
-
You suck! Haha it's a fusion rifle. They one shot people anyway. Plus, you are a fusion rifle scrub. It is so nice to see you get owned by the 25 with your own choice of weapon. It has made my day. Thank you.
-
Lol your bad, you missed and he didn't, first get good and he prob had a max 300 attack gun which does matter too
-
You suck
-
Lol so watched the vid. You miss, he doesn't, but you want your level to make up for your lack of skill? All 300 weapons do the same amount of damage. If he didn't have a fully maxed fusion rifle he wouldn't of killed you. I've been owning people lower than 27 in this playlist. The problem is you.
-
You have to go back to one of the earlier weekly updates to find it ( it's a few weeks old ) but Deej and Bungie basically said that anyone within 5 levels of you would be more or less playing on an even playing field with you. What Iron Banner 2.0 does is it stops Lv.30 characters from being destroyed by Lv.20's and prevents Lv.1's up to Lv.19's from entering and being competitive.
-
Do you expect to be invincable? Skill still matters. I got shoulder charged by a level 27 and it didn't kill me at level 30. I then blasted him with a shotgun. Level advantage is working fine noob.
-
Yea I'm pretty sure you just suck at this game and should probably go play cod
-
outplayed
-
If he has a maxed out (300 attack) weapon he is still a viable threat read the post completely
-
i survive a warlock super last night
-
I punched a lvl 24 bladedancer who was bladedancing me to death. Took three punches to do it and I was inside my armour of light bubble but wow the notion of punching a blade dancer dead made me smile (^^,)
-
Maybe he's better than you? Skill Is still more important.
-
You failed your shot bud, sorry but that was on your ass
-
I play IB as a 26 Titan and im top 3 overall of the match like 95% of the matches i play. Mad?
-
Well i survived a shoulder charge im lvl29 and the titan was 25-27 soo stats does matters.
-
Perhaps he was also more skilled, don't feel entitled to 'dominate' a lower leveled player in IB just because of the level difference.
-
Skill does matter

Edited by AmpliFyyz: 11/19/2014 2:07:04 PMOn my level 30 titan, took 2 consecutive melee attacks from a level 25 hunter and I was able to kill him and live. Level does matter. Edit: your shot was awful by the way, missed half the projectiles...
-
You're one of those idiots that gets everything patched
-
Level definitely matters. I was in arc blade and took a nova bomb to the face. I survived and cut their team to ribbons. The lock was 24 I'm 29. Don't go in expecting the kind of difference you see in pve. Its not fun for anyone if a lv.30 can one shot a 26 with AE

Guess this post kinda backfired on ya, huh? Lol
