but not in the way most Titans think and maybe not in the way Bungie intended. There's a way to take advantage of the initial boost to gain relatively insane horizontal mobility. The method is called "skating" and involves rapidly activating and cancelling the ability (sprinting helps), so that instead of gaining a boost plus 3 seconds of standard Lift, you can gain up to 3 boosts that can close gaps or traverse maps with blazing speed.
I think if the ability is to be "fixed", this functionality of increased mobility should emphasized. The other two options are great in their own way but Catapult is a unique beast that gives Titans competitive and much needed mobility.
Rather than replace the ability completely or rebuild it from scratch, I'd suggest a few tweaks.
- Press jump while in the air to activate, propelling the Titan in the direction they are facing
- Catapult has three "charges"
- Instead of cancelling the ability, subsequent button presses will boost the Titan again, up to two more times
- This ability replaces Lift
If you already know how to use Catapult in this way, you might argue that these tweaks would only make the ability easier, requiring less skill and overall, dumbing down the class. I'd argue that pressing Jump 7 times in a row as fast as possible isn't really all that skill intensive. If anything, my thumb just hurts more using Catapult over Height or Direction. If you don't know what I'm talking about, there's a tutorial on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbShl33GK2Q
Catapult should have these changes done to retain this amazing functionality while also smoothing out its use in practice, and clearing the air on just wtf Catapult is supposed to do.

I'll try this when I next play
