A lot of the lurkers I knew seem to have left or made themselves even more scarce. Lurkers were a great encouragement to me while I was posting on a more regular basis. I feel they are still valued members of the community, this site would be better off if people lurked a bit more.

Fair enough. However personally, I find them to be.. Well.. Rather irrelevant and of no value to the forums at all.
