This is why I think Bungie should ignore all the whining and rely more on in-game telemetry of weapon data. When balancing them out, find out what weapons are getting the most kills for a certain sample size/class (not to be confused with just popularity) and make balance adjustments based on that. Preferably buffing weaker weapons rather than automatically swinging the nerf bat on everything "good". Whiners can continue to whine away, while in-game data will speak for itself.
