Remnants of what the Flood was are in the Milky Way. I think Vien knows a lot more about it than you do, and he said the main forces from the Flood left the galaxy.

Fairly sure that is incorrect. The Flood was created for one purpose, and one purpose alone: vengeance upon the Milky Way. While I'm sure some Flood spread outwards, it was most likely to wipe out any remaining Forerunner colonies that existed outside of our galaxy.

I have not read the books yet or anything, only played the games and watched the terminals :P That is just what Vien told me. They are. The Flood originated from an unknown galaxy. What's in the Milky Way is just a small portion.

Depression sucks. Also, don't bother reading the Cryptum trilogy; ridiculously dull read. It'd be better if you were to read about it on a wiki or something.
