Well, if you're running low on motes there's not much you can do. No point risking a good gun to try and get a better one when you could end up with junk. Field Scout/Rodeo and any ballistics that adds some Stability is a good roll for a Field Scout build. I wouldn't use Compensator, though, if you can help it; it has -10 Stability, plus with the low base Stability of Jolder's Hammer it'll be inaccurate.
