Just realize that when 90% of destiny players say this it means something. Destiny was SEVERELY lacking in story.
-
You need a story to even compete with WoW... Destiny has nothing going for it. The DLC are adding another strike that is going to end up being monotonous by the end of the first week.
-
Correct, they tried to copy so much games that they failed at all .. When the rarest gear is the common one (white) something is wrong .. And everyone looks the same when maxed out .. No one is legend in this game we all the same . If we only knew what happened that changed the final version of the game so badly and in the wrong way and how it was ment to be... I remember a dev movie clip where the dev says " look at that awesome gear , how awesome wil it be trading that with your friends .." Story cutted, trading /economy cutted . Game cutted for having content to sell has dlc . Story writer out of company for some reason resulting has an unfinished or cut story ... What i can say after 400hours of gameplay and alot of reading/reSearch is that destiny could have been a game changer but its only another franchise where activision has a saying and want to make millions every year whit a new game .

I'm English and I have no American money. How do I get the Dark Below Downloadable Content for Destiny?
-
Buy a money card that goes with the console you have at GameStop or any other gaming store, then redeem it at the online store on your console. If you have any other questions, you can ask me.
-
I'm American and also don't have any American money.

Edited by VariousPanda: 11/22/2014 2:13:00 PMI was actually expecting a BUNGIE game to have a complete and competent story. I've been here longer than you and I know Bungie used to actually be good at making games. Sorry, but I have the right to complain to complain about this shit whether you like it or not. Also this DLC is not worth the twenty dollar asking price.
-
If you've been here longer than us, then I'm assuming you're older than the majority of people here. I'm also assuming you "might" possibly be making more money than we are as well. How is $20 burning a hole in your pocket? It's a ONE time charge for some video game content. And you're seriously complaining about it? Tell you what, how about you go work for maybe 2-3 hours and just make the $20 up if it's going to leave you as poor as a peasant.
-
It's not that simple. When you get older, you realize that while $20 may not be a large amount of money, it is also significantly more important to manage it properly. I'm older than most gamers here, and yes, earning $20 at work isn't difficult. But that $20 represents several days of groceries, or half a tank of gas to get to work, both of which are more important than The Dark Below. It's a slippery slope to be sure, but just saying it's easy to earn $20 due to longevity in the workplace does not justify spending it by any means.

Edited by The Last Assassi: 11/22/2014 7:35:36 PMWell I'd rather not have a heated debate about who's older but I can only speak for myself as to what holds true. If one manages to budget his finances and access them accordingly then it does become feasible to allow a mere $20 (at this point) to slip through and be used for something other than life's necessities. I'm not by any means condoning someone to live a life of spending money on whatever they want. But for my scenario even being married with 2 kids, it's not hard at all to manage $20. And if I may reiterate myself. There are many people who worked hard on this content who look forward to its release. Considering the advertising and resources needed for the game, it's price mark isn't unfair at all. I understand that $20 can be used elsewhere such as gas or groceries. But so can the 2 maybe 3 times of Chipotle or an everyday coffee. But hopefully you can see at which angle I'm coming from with this.

Absolutely! And no aggression intended. I suppose it's a "two sides of the same coin" situation. I should have added I will be enjoying the dark below myself (truth be told it's been ready to go since 9/9) and house of wolves as well. The crux of it is that many people's perceived value of the expansions has been severely tainted because of Destiny's less than stellar launch. I truly hope no one at Bungie views it as a monumental success like their previous titles. To say it has been rough would be very generous in my eyes. That's what they're fighting against now.
-
I completely agree with you there. I couldn't have said that any better myself.
-
Just because it's not alot of money doesn't mean it's not a ripoff. Three "story" missions(all likely horde mode mostly) One strike(two for PS4, and as I am an XBone player this pisses me off to no end and is another reason I refuse to get this) One raid(which I would never play as I have neither the time nor the friends on my console to do so) Three Crucible maps(I despise the Crucible and think it's horribly imbalanced) More exotics(which will likely be nerfed about a week after release) I'm not continuing to line the pockets of the companies that I paid $60 to for something radically different than what I was promised, whether I have the money to or not.
-
I've been playing destiny since the alpha and yes I can understand that the game is different from what we were promised. But even after that fact, the game is still very reasonably enjoyable unless you're playing it every single day. Anything can get boring after doing it for an unreasonable amount of time. Now as far as the price of the content being delivered? I know without a shadow of a doubt that it takes a LOT to make these games and even the DLC that comes with it. Are there glitches? Yeah of course, what doesn't? Isn't everything capable of some kind of "glitch"? But to bring back the point. I feel that $20 is a very minimal amount to ask for the content. And sure I even understand that corporate greed is looked down upon. I don't disagree there. But you live with what's given to you sometimes. Your frustration is understandable to some extent. But I don't agree with boycotting something when it will still end up being fun anyhow.
-
When I pay for something, I expect to get what I paid for. When I pre-ordered Destiny, I was being promised a game of limitless fun, huge, populated worlds, a social experience, a good story. Two months after release we kinda got the social part. I did not play the alpha or beta, if I did I likely would've seen how vastly different the game was compared to the trailers and I would've cancelled my pre-order. I sure I would enjoy The Dark Below for a time, however, when I get DLC I expect it keep me playing. Nothing will keep me playing Destiny at this point.
