With no signs of Raid matchmaking, the causal gamer such as myself will be leaving soon.
(I know this makes many of you happy)
You see, I am not a great player by any means, and while I'm not mad about leaving destiny, I won't be buying the DLC.
I just got the "charity" boots and gloves from IB. With an exotic chest piece, I have only a helmet to get to 30....
I will not be able to raid without matchmaking, so I wont be getting the raid helmet....If I cant get to 30, why get the DLC
Matchmaking was an oversight, no matter what you say. So its cool, destiny was fun for the most part...but I think in the next 2-3 weeks it will be over and I'll go back to Madden
Just an insight from a more casual fan to Bungie... I know your game is a monetary success, but you are leaving some money on the table with some of us.

I understand that it's the thought of having the option, but I don't think Raid matchmaking would be all that good of an idea despite what many people think. Imagine all the AFK players you'd get, all the squeakers, the no mics, those that don't know what they're doing and how to communicate, not to mention the players that would get frustrated and simply leave. No, the Raid doesn't need matchmaking, you need to find a small group of players that will Raid with you and take their time in explaining things to you. You have time to post on the forums, so surely you can find a forum post of people that have time to Raid. If you're on PS4 I don't mind doing the Raid. I have a few buddies that wouldn't mind either.
-
This is entirely untrue. I am a casual gamer and I have managed a level 30. Out of raid gear too none of that ib stuff. So dont tell me you cant when we know you can. You knew this was a social game when you bought it, which means 2 things, have friends or make friends. The second is harder but possible. their is an internet site called destinylfg.net you can find people their and if you wanna meet people in game play a few strikes and send a nessage to the good players you run across and say hey, I had fun playing with you, want to play another time maybe try out the raid?? I started out with no friends on destiny, I now have so many their is almost always someone on.
-
If you are three light away from 30, and have an Xbox one, send me a friend request. GT : steaknive I will probably be doing the hard raid sometime tonight.
-
There is destiny lfg and the recruitment forum on bungie for finding groups. It has never taken me more than 5 minutes to either find a group or fill one completely. I'm sure matchmaking would make it easier but it really is not that hard right now. All you have to do is go online and respond to someone making a group and you're in in no time.
-
www.destinylfg.net you're welcome. You don't have to add them to your friends, or if you do then you can delete randoms afterwards. 7 groups in the last 10 minutes looking for members/to start. I get your frustration that there's no matchmaking for it, but here's a matchmaking site that works perfectly fine, if you don't want to use it because you don't think you need to or should have to then I can't help you there. My first raids were through this and they went fine (apart from me literally falling off the edge the second I spawned into the templar room my first time).

Edited by MightyJonE: 11/25/2014 2:47:51 AMWhat exactly is a casual player? If you think about it, aren't we all casual towards entertainment generally? Casually reading books, casually listening to music, casually watching films and TV.....and casually playing videogames for a few hours a week, maybe some days more than others, and some days not at all
-
Does seem odd to me that your willing to give up on a game that I'm guessing you enjoyed. Bungie purposely left out match making for raids as it takes a good team to compete. Best thing to do is join a clan and try the raid that way.
-
You know the dark below raid is 28?
-
All you have to do is send messages to people at the tower, saying " raid normal, and people is bound to answer back. Plus there is a recruitment page. Not that hard as you make it out to be.
-
Bungie.net is the raid matchmaking If there was a matchmaking like you want it will be unplayable because every inexperienced lvl 26 is going to try it. Teamwork and communication is the most important part but I bet less than half of the fireteam will have a mic. Then you need at least two hours to complete it. Not everyone is going trough that so there is a incomplete fireteam.
-
I've had normal raids that last 4-6 hours. I've also completed the hard raid in 40 mins. Your teammates really do matter in the raid, and ONE weak link can cause a lot of pain. If you're willing to dedicate 4 hours to raiding then take 10 minutes, get on destiny forums, or reddit, or destinylfg.com, or destinylfg.net and find a raid group. If you lack the patience to find a raid group, then you lack the patience for the raid. I spent 3 hours helping some new raiders beat it on normal, even though I already had my completion this week and received no rewards.
-
Dude, just apply to join a clan or post your availibility on the forum if you need to find a group.
-
you are no longer going to grace us with your presence oh great lord of causal gaming? How will we ever go on without you?! Please lord have mercy on us and stay!

Peace...

This game was build for casuals, at least the used this commend to argument the missing story content, then they nerfed the shit outta this game for all which can't play a ego shooter and now you say the casuals will be leaving? So many peoples saw that coming and posted this on the feedback and i totally agree with them: bungie and activision was counting on the wrong type of gamers from the beginning. Now just leave, you casual fools and play some angry birds, so bungie can give me hours filling story and playable content for free with prepatching...lolololol *sarcasm off*
-
Casual gamers can hit rank 4 IB? O.o
-
Later dude. No one will miss you.
-
Why not join a clan and make friends. I've had no issues finding raid partners
-
What console are you on? I can get you in my raid group..PS3
-
I'm sorry that bungie sucks and didn't make the game for their community.
-
Good.
-
Do normal raid with random's as the chest drops plenty of times. Once done get an exotic helm and like magic - 30!!
-
Make friends. That's what I did. And I doubt that you've NEVER received a mass message being invited to do the raid.
-
When I started paying destiny I had one friend in psn through work. Now my list has grown close to 40 "friends"
