...demonstrates mastery across all disciplines, rather than just mastery of cheesing the raid.

7 RepliesI have 2 30s with raid gear and a soon to be 30 hunter with both of the ib pieces of gear. I think the raid gear is a much bigger achievement, it means you stuck with it week after week of shards and energy to finally get that gear you have worked so hard for. I got my ib gear in 2 days lol

2 Replies36 raid completions, all raid gear, EXCEPT THE BOOTS. I consider myself a true level 30. I had to spend 8 hours after work, grinding that IB before it closed, to go from rank 0 - 3 for those damn boots.

3 RepliesI had rank 5 on my main, and rank 3 on both my alts. But i didnt buy ib gear cuz i gots 2-3 sets of raid gear on each toon. Does this make me better than yall cuz i grinded ib for a lame ship a 2nd epic shader and some crappy guns ill never use?? Ib gear doesnt show mastery. It shows that you got matched with real players who carried your dead weight to a win every once in a while so you could turn in your stack of participation medals for rep. Grind the hard raid 3x times a week for 17 runs trying to get that elusive fatebringer or mythoclast that wont drop. I have 13 timebreakers and 6 ships... but ib crap somehow makes you better? Grats on your alt gear

Most of games I entered where someone on my team was just AFK'ing all game through. Ping rate determines the best player in any PvP and there are a plethora of ways to possitivly effect yours and negatively affect others. Meathods in which you can fine tune your broadband or even the settings on your router. Any guardian 30 who can enter the raid be comfortable in any part and use the relics confidently outweigh those who sit in PvP. A good number of those in PvP can enter the raid and hold their own as well. Just remember one key fact. Bungie said the raid isn't for everyone (hence no matchmaking), yet PvP is for everyone. In my eyes the true judge of character are the individuals that race to pick up the shield. The weak ones are the people you hear saying "no one picked up the shield".

I was 30 before Iron Banner, made it to rank 5, but didn't buy any Iron Banner armor. Just didn't appeal to me. I bought the scout rifle though.

Who gives a -blam!- what you wear to reach level 30. The light level doesn't make you a good player in pvp or raid environments. There is only one thing that matters "gun game" you either have it or you don't.

Do more than 14 raids then we might listen to that puppy dog mouth of yours..#rookie

1 ReplyI can agree with this. The raid is pure lucky with weekly attempts. IB was one week all out warfare and constant grinding with others as skilled if not more skilled then you. How do I know? Cuz I'm the Titan with both IB regalia gauntlets and boots with the sick revenant shader

Wish my IB Chestpiece was a level 30 chest instead of just a 27 light piece -.- Thought they'd buff it so I could be 30 with full IB (minus helm)

This true and fake level 30 is getting boring by now, I don't care if you get your gear from ib or the raid , in fact i wouldn't give a damn if you bought them from a a damn vender for 100 glimmer. I've played the raid alot and couldn't finish many of them at the beginning. when i hit 30 first i was a crappy 30 since I pretty much became thirty from cheesing atheon on hard once and got lucky with the helmet ( i got my other gears from normal ) but now i can pretty much do anything from soloing any confluex, soloing both gate keepers on hard ( G-Horn master race ) . handling the relic and melting oracles with AE and ruining atheon's day with my ice breaker . So please enough with the true and fake level 30 thing already and just enjoy the raid.

IB gear is way easier to obtain than raid gear. Take that from someone who is/was rank 5 in the iron banner.
