I feel you man! Had the exact same thoughts a few weeks ago!
!!!BUT!!!
Please play the raid (id be happy to run you through the whole thing) because thats when i personally found the game to be most satisfying and maybe you will too!
With the raid you really get a "bigger goal to achieve", a purpose to fight if you will. Especially if you read the Grimoire cards about Kabr you start to wonder what mysteries are still buried deep within the Vault, from the second and third jump puzzles leading to the old Vex gate just outside the entrance to the Glass Throne, to hidden paths and a possibility to leave the Vault during or after the bossfight!
(I am not going to go into any theories, since this is neither the place nor the time to do so, but if you get into that "explorer-mindset" you get that kind of legendary experience we all wanted from the game)
I really hope I could inspire some people to see Destiny from another perspective, and therefore won't give up the game just yet!
But who knows, maybe I'm just utterly optimistic and trust my favourite game developers just a tad too much ;)
Hit me up on PSN if you want, always happy to get more input on the whole "Mysteries of the VoG" thing!
P.S.: I'm intentionally keeping the nightfall loot/raid gear debate aside, since feeling legendary/generally good about the time you have spent in a game, shouldn't be a thing of RNG :P
