Do you honestly expect an exotic to just drop into the laps of every PS player? You don't get *any* weapon or armour "until the game decides to hand it to you". If you got the drop rate you wanted, you would have every weapon inside 2 weeks and would have been playing something else a couple of days after that. Random drops are meant to keep you hanging on for the next mission, strike etc.
