    • PvE: 1. Hawkmoon - It has a great combination of speed precision and damage, just great overall. 2. Fatebringer - I mean it's Fatebringer, there's not much more to say. 3. The Last Word - Unless your fighting a bunch of low tier enemies or you're a hunter with chain of woe and gunslinger's trance, the gun's reload and small magazine can, (and probably will,) get you killed. PvP: 1. The Last Word - It's not that hard to single another player out for a 1v1 engagement, (in which the last word reigns supreme,) and if another player enters the fray to make it a 2v1 engagement one may always disengage. (The Last Word can actually be used for 2v1 engagements effectively in skilled hands, but any more than that would require the use of ALL a guardians abilities.) 2. Hawkmoon - It has a great set of perks that can just wreck in PvP, add that to the fact that without the perks it can still drop someone like a fly, and it's a great go to weapon. (I perform better with an agressive weapon like the Last Word, which is why I use it over Hawkmoon.) 3. Fatebringer - If you don't have either of the aforementioned guns then sure, Fatebringer... Although I'd use Thorne before I use Fatebringer.

    • Depends on where we're going. Only issue with hawkmoon is that it's exotic and when equipped one obviously can't equip another exotic in either the secondary or heavy weapon slot. Due to this I find myself using fatebringer more often though Hawkmoon IMO is the better hand cannon. Don't have The Last Word so no comment.

    • Fatebringer, elemental damage and doesn't take an exotic slot.

    • I haven't used Fatebringer yet but I'd pick Hawkmoon over The Last Word without a micron of regret. There's no contest.

I have all three.. Hawkmoon is good for pve as its basically a sniper with all that range and can cause havoc in both pve and pvp if you know how to get them critical hits. Fatebringer (my fav primary) is just amazing once fully upgraded. It wrecks in every aspect of pve in almost every single situation and isn't that bad in pvp either. The last word? Lol it's so gimmicky. I don't like it one bit. It's just my personal preference though.

Don't have fate bringer but Hawkmoon is a beast on PvE and PvP, mines fully upgraded and in level 30 VoG I was doing over 15 damage on Goblins (I'm only level 29) am trying my hardest to get a fate bringer though

      • Don't have the Hawkmoon. YET. Out of the other two, I would def say Fatebringer. Last word is fun to use, but it does't really feel like a hand cannon, and more like a normal pistol. Still, it's quite strong and fun to use.

      • Hawkmoon is solid in PVE and PVP, and effective long range to short range.

      • Hawkmoon hands down for PvP. It has amazing range and most of the time I outgun people trying to snipe me and at close range it still hits like a shotgun if you get a lucky bullet. As for PvE Fatebringer is a no brainer. It does arc damage and having enemies combust after a precision kill is great. Damages any enemies nearby therefore less health on them. Plus the huge increase in reload speed is fantastic when you're in a sticky situation.

      • Hawkmoon for mid to slightly long range in PvP and PvE. Last Word hands down in close to mid range in PvE and PvP because of the ungodly fire rate and if you're good with it, almost zero recoil. Not to mention, it looks super cool and probably has the best animation of any gun I've seen in Destiny.

      • LAST WORD = PVP. Easily out guns the SUROS and vex mytho, only if you have a good aim. -exp. Personally own and have majority been using it crucible. HAWKMOON = kinda of both? But more leaning towards PVE. And having 3 luck in the chamber bullets?! Insane. -exp. Don't own. Xbox player. Just constantly seeing videos about it and drooling at the same time.

      • I have maxed out both hawkmoon and fatebringer. From a pve perspective, in my opinion fatebringer is the better choice. In terms of raw single target dps, the hawkmoon does shine, but the lack of ammo can be pretty brutal in the harder modes. Fatebringer has arc damage, explodes and reloads faster with crits (the explosions are after every kill so its pretty awesome), is only legendary, and has roughly 40 more shots than hawkmoon with the field scout perk. What i haven't tried yet is hawkmoon with an ammo perk on my armor. Running around vog looking for white boxes on the ground all the time is what pushed me towards fatebringer initially.

      • Fatebringer, because it's great in PvE and it lets me equip gjallarhorn at the same time. If it's the only weapon I can ever use, then Hawkmoon because it is probably a little bit better than fatebringer. It makes me wish I had a ps4 : ( TLW is good for the crucible, but it's atrocious in PvE

The last word 3 head shots with highest fire rate. Plus the fan fire which makes it be fired even faster. I'd choose hawkmoon if I'm on a big map.
