I think that was the problem for me. I am not an MMO player so I expected the story/playability of an FPS with the addition of MMO like things. This game I think disappoints both types of players.
Don't misunderstand the FPS mechanics are incredible but there is just a level of "ehh, so what" every time I get a drop or buy something.
That said, I'll still be addicted to this game in 10 years barring two things, in which cast I will destroy Destiny the second this comes true.
1) Destiny 2 is a wipe and we have to start all over without our gear and characters (I read somewhere that Bungie said they are transferable)
2) Every DLC and additional game, Every Weapon becomes useless and vendors sell higher rated gear/weapons. (If this happens, to me it's like what is the point)
- With gear, if Vanguard starts selling level 34 light gear one year down the road because Destiny 2 strikes start at level 30 and they cannot alienate gamers who purchase Destiny 2, why even try to get level 30 now or 32 when the DLC comes.
- With weapons all these weapons (none of which I have) like the Gjallahorn, Ice Breaker, etc topped out have less damage than a standard "new" exotic, a year from now they will have to keep upping the damage to keep people purchasing their games and DLC so all of these weapons right now are much less useful (ie useless) once these DLCs come out.
