Towards the end of high school, I somewhat aggressively shot down the advances of a pretty girl because I [b][i]panicked[/i][/b]. Was so embarrassed by it that I was unable salvage the situation later. I remember walking out of that class and asking my friends "What the -blam!- just happened in there?", only to be met with eye rolls and lowered head shakes. Nearly 14 years later and I can still feel the cringe...
