So Sony shelled out a shitload of money to have exclusive Destiny content for their PS4 to push PS4 sales.
What rightfully upsets people is that this exclusive content apparently wasn't additional content created for Sony, but instead was presumably cut out of the existing (base game and DLC) content which originally was meant for all players and platforms. That's certainly a reason to be upset, but why don't you look at it this way:
When Sony paid big buck for their exclusive Destiny content, they did so because they had been convinced Destiny would be the awesome game Bungie had made everybody believe it would be, and not the half assed, cut down, nerfed to hell mediocre shooter / wannabe MMO hybrid it is now.
Of course this is speculation, but it appears rather predictable to me that Sony will not have quite the positive effect of their exclusive Destiny content on PS4 sales as they hoped they would have.
Activision -so I have read - had also promised a multi million dollar bonus to Bungie if Destiny would get a Metacritic rating of 80 or higher. I think it is safe to say that Activision had a big deal in making Destiny the mediocre, lack luster game it is now and that caused it to have a comparably bad Metacritic rating. In the end, Actibungie have hurt themselves with the dubious business model they have decided to apply to Destiny.
Would serve them so damn right.
