Trading in farmed materials at the crucible or vanguard vendor gave you REPUTATION not marks.

Yea that's horrible. I can get 7 marks in one pvp match.

You can get 5-7 marks in one pvp patch in a quarter of the time it would take you to get 50 materials and if you don't like pvp just buy the vanguard armor. They prob got rid of that exchange because nobody did it. That's a rip off 50 material for 5 marks I would never do that.

Sometimes I'd have like 200+ material and not have a weapon or armor need that material so I'd trade it in. Especially if I just needed another 10-15 marks to buy something.
