Because buying and reselling mats for rep wouldn't be abused, amirite? Ahoy free legendaries for faction packages!
Seriously, you people.. if you can't handle Crucible, farm Vanguard marks.
English
-
Abolish Crucible and Vanguard Marks. Make them interchangeable, better yet establish a universal currency, which can be use to purchase anything from a commodity market.
-
You got 5 marks for 50 mats. You get 20 mats for 10 marks. So buying and selling would just be a good way to run out of marks and mats.
-
The marks, really ain't the problem here...
-
And rep suddenly is?
-
Yes, yes it is. considering new faction gear with Light level 30 is coming out, I wouldn't think it's in their best interest to make the rep farmable in such a way.
-
So two things: 1) With the exception of crucible rep, every faction can earn rep very easily from PvE. This was true even if you didn't turn in mats. 2) Given the weekly cap on marks, which you'll need for that light level 30 gear, assuming you were to just farm vanguard marks, and retain the crucible marks, you're talking about 100 rep per week by turning marks into mats into crucible rep. You also get 20 crucible marks you won't have to earn in the crucible. It's a bounty. Beyond that, that's a lot of dedicated farming for rep. If someone wants to grind their rep that way, I say let them

Math is so hard though. Stop mathing!
-
If the crucible wasn't a complete dumpster fire I might agree. PvP sucks in this game.
-
You must be joking, I can't even remember the last time I got anything from a faction level. Factions are stingier than the Craptard.
-
Well then you haven't had a faction levelled up in a while. It's a guaranteed legendary item every time you level it.
-
Ok... Why not just remove rep gains and keep the exchange? Oh no... Thats too complicated.. Derp derp derp... People would than be able to trade one type of Mark for another at a 5:1 ratio! Oh no! We can't have that! It's better to force people to play grabass in the crucible...
-
And what would be the point of that, exactly? Getting 20 Crucible marks a week? So it'd take you more than a month to get a weapon, less if it's a piece of armor, but still quite some time, so, what's the point? Crucible Rep? You won't have the marks to spend on the rep gains? Besides the fact that losing games is a faster way to get marks in the long term...
-
I all for this if it gets me the biliary to regain marks by trading in materials.
