EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint:
Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post.
Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons.
EDIT #1 END
First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs.
Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP.
What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks?
I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already.
If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games.
Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00.
If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time.
Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP.
Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand.
All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls.
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible.
I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too.
If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way.
If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance.
BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

wow! go play "Peggle" where you belong
-
I dont even know whats going on anymore in the world of destiny, yet Ive had the game day 1 and play everday.
-
Glad I like all aspects of this game. Some of you guys cry hard about sucking at PvP lol
-
Another game lost to the pvp monster
-
Agree. Thanks bungie for giving us pve players ONE WHOLE VENDOR!!! Now I guess I just have my face rank 11 and NM rank 6 for no damn reason... because I can't buy weapons anyway. Worthless materials too. I've got hundreds!!!
-
Simple solution, do what I did ...
-
Man, it's gotta get exhausting complaining so much about something as insignificant as a weapon in a video game. This forum business is getting lame. I think I'll go play destiny... It's fun.
-
bungie just forces pvp on people way to much which is just pathetic
-
I agree with u and will ride the same boat for the worst PvP player of all time I only got destiny for the pve aspect yes I do enjoy PvP on other games but only when its balanced unlike PvP on destiny.
-
Shut up Meg
-
Why dont you shut the -blam!- up?
-
I think a good solution to this would be to just make the vanguard and cruis vendors run off the same currency. Problem solved right there. Then you could make it so the factions just run off there very own currency.
-
I dont know why they couldnt offer both.
-
The needs of the many out weighs the needs of the few :)
-
Crucible is a pvp reputation. Why would someone deserve crucible reputation without pvp? Though I could understand wanting the other faction vendors to accept vanguard marks, but demanding access to an aspect of a game you prefer to not participate in seems silly to me.
-
Ignore the hate. I can commiserate with you to a certain degree. I'm also not big on the crucible, and I found that exchanging materials was handy at times. Do what makes you happy. Do what's fun. It sucks that this impacted your gameplay in a negative way. It also sucks that the community is full of negativity. I'm sure you're not the only one impacted. Remember, it's just a video game. Props for airing out your grievances. Soldier on, guardian.

Ah come on, Bungie does not give a crap about PVE, They look at the numbers playing the likes of COD and Battlefield and go emmmm we want some of them monies! Destiny is some of the laziest game design I have seen from a "AAA" Developer. Bare bones content, that your forced to repeat over and over to get any where. They have no interest in fixing the PVE, the best you can hope for are token changes, made in the cheapest way possible, so they can hold on to you till Destiny 2 Comes out. Little to no social feature at launch, Moronic amount of Currencies for the few amount of weapons and Armour, and the general piss poor dealings with the community. Bungie Don's Give a dam and it is quite clear from the state of this overpriced mess of a game. Well they either don't care, or are incompetent or both. Forget about Destiny and Bungie, there are far better quality and value for money games out there.
-
I didn't really think about it but yeah it was removed huh? I do hope they bring it back - however I do understand that there is some 'reduction' in value. You can't really make it exactly 1:1 as no vendor or store would ever do that. Maybe a fair change would be to keep the "10 Marks" consistent. Purchase: Buy 20 materials for 10 marks Trade: Sell 50 materials for 10 marks. I think if they brought it back that way, then people would be happy!

Edited by SpectreVI: 12/8/2014 5:31:28 AMI would have been fine with them making the mat->mark exchange more lopsided. 100 mats to 5 marks but yeah taking it out was a **** move. At the very least make the factions accept both types of marks. EDIT: Please note I said FACTIONS and not Crucible. I shouldn't have to drag a team/teams down in Crucible to buy a pair of dead orbit/new monarchy/FWC boots.

Edited by GouldBerg988: 12/8/2014 1:48:54 PMYou make us PvE Players look bad. Just read my post about why you feel the need to hate on PvP: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/82268382/0/0/1 You will be a better person afterwards. Or at least one who doesn`t come across as a ...(insert random word from your vocabulary)

you seriously had more fun farming tons of materials to exchange em for crucible rep? its so much easier to just play crucible , even if you suck with a 0.1 KD you still get your rep and marks ...
-
Edited by Postman Garlic: 12/8/2014 1:37:00 PMYou are threatening to become a griefer. You could be banned for that, you idiot. Edit: And I didn't get what your problem is.

Edited by SnakeDoc518: 12/7/2014 6:18:44 AMi gotta say, i'm a little annoyed about this as well...i mean, being able to buy mats, instead of having to grind planetside for them, is pretty cool, but i don't see why they needed to get rid of the materials exchange......i mean, what's someone gonna do, spend marks to get mats, to sell the mats, to get marks? you'd be spending more marks than you get back. i mean, it could be a faster way to Velveeta your faction rep, but honestly, there are so many other ways to get faction rep, that it would be utterly retarded to do it this way. there was honestly no reason to get rid of the exchange....both could co-exist... i really wish bungie would put it back.
-
You're very much right OP. A lot of valid points
-
If you are a pve player you would have stuck with vanguard like me so you wouldn't be screwed with stuff like this. Faction is pvp vanguard is pve
-
IMO you're pretty much right BUT I think the reason they took out Mat Exchange was because say I wanted to make a new character, I can just buy lots of mats, transfer it to my new character trade in mats for XP and get to level 20 in a few min. Bungie WANTS us to play their shit campaign over and over again. -...-
