EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint:
Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post.
Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons.
EDIT #1 END
First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs.
Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP.
What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks?
I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already.
If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games.
Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00.
If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time.
Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP.
Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand.
All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls.
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible.
I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too.
If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way.
If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance.
BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

Agreed, even though the Vanguard stuff is better than Crucible IMO

Edited by NightMist: 12/4/2014 4:26:36 AMYou should re-title your post to say 'PvE Only'. Because not everyone that plays PvE hates PvP. PS: I also didn't read your post. Sorry but these get old...

There are plenty of people who hate farming materials... From both PVE and PVP sides. They want you to earn marks to get that gear. Which is why they are making it so that you have to have the upgrade materials from the packages you get from ranking up, in order to upgrade said gear. Vanguard shard for vanguard gear, crucible shard for crucible gear. It should be this way. You shouldn't be able to get and upgrade crucible gear without doing to crucible. You also shouldn't have to spend hours on end farming materials for gear that's just going to be replaced.

I need a device that will turn over-reaction into gold...
-
I play mainly pve im not sure how we are getting screwed.
-
Stinks.
-
Did you get marks from material exchange as well as rep ???
-
Maybe you should consider playing the whole game. Not a criticism, but I enjoy playing all game modes and benefit from doing so by receiving exp and loot from all of them. It also helps break the occasional monotony. Just my opinion. Maybe Bungie is attempting to push folks to play other game modes. We will have more fake 30s with raid and IB hear :(
-
Pvpers cant buy raid marks to buy raid weapons and gear. Everything is now as it should be.
-
Bungle hates you. Move on
-
It's no where near as bad as you put it. Really, I mean I too do not like playing PvP (I do Iron Banner for the weapons however, as well as for various bounties, if I need moar xp, etc.) It's Bungie's intent even whole weeks before release a statement made during Gamescom that they will entice players normally just PvE/P to intermingle and flip it around a bit. Even stating in order to get the full game you have to play the full game. That said I understand where you're coming from as I used the exchange as well, however over time I know I can get far more use out of this system. I'm actually glad for it, the main loss for me is the change in lore. Oh, and PvP isn't so bad once you learn how to counterplay the Shotties. Then it just boils down to reaction time mostly.

Here you go heres a tissue wipe your tears and your ass cos your clearly suffering from severe butthurt
-
You've spent about 10 hours doing strikes and about 15 on story and not a single second in the raid. YOU HAVENT DONE ANY PVE. YOUVE SPEND OVER 11 DAYS IN PATROL MODE. You haven't done any of the pve content in this game dude, all you have done is spend 11 days of your life walking in circles opening chests.
-
Lol at pve only players, -blam!-ing hopeless
-
Uhhh...Vanguard?
-
Should add a #butthurt
-
I always get both weekly caps by weekend just play god damn
-
And your beating a dead horse right now!

Edited by msqar: 12/3/2014 2:54:57 PMI think the new way on purchasing mats is awesome lol... i've spent so many -blam!-ing hours running in circles to get mats, especially the helium filmanets, had to farm 350 one day, my brain was about to explode... i would rather play Lv24 strikes or PvP for the same amount of hours and i end up getting more mats with the Marks... Stop crying, you can still farm the mats the old way, by running like a BOT for hours, i don't care if you don't like PvP maybe because you suck? I'm not a PvP fan but i enjoy playing with my friends, we win the 90% of the times, with any weapon we got. I mean, i just can't understand why would you complain, this mats farming implementation doesn't affect on you ANYTHING, you can't trade the mats, there's no auction house to screw up the game economics... you only have more ways to farm, you guys are crying like babies for EVERYTHING, and i've seen posts of people saying there would be nice to have new ways on getting mats... now you say IT'S NOT OKAY? god damn... don't play the stupid game anymore, better for us. The only thing i got to say about the update is, they managed to fix the Templar cheesing, but they didn't fix the STUPID Atheon's fight that has been broken since the beginning, there are like 5 to 7 bugs during the encounter... and they don't give a flying FACK. So you say and talk about being a "PvE guy" but you don't complain about that either? so what do YOU want? lol... you only shit about the mats? is that it? my god.
-
Funny that its only possible to get to lvl 30 by playng PVE. When you say that it is a 80% PVP game
-
Why do you even want Crucible gear, dude? Raid gear is better for PvE anyway.
-
Edited by Gearhead77453: 12/4/2014 12:50:11 AMWoah there cowboy. You've spend only 2 hours of play time doing strikes, 3 hours playing the story, 0 hours in crucible and 0 hours in the raid. BUT YOU HAVE OVER 3 DAYS OF PATROL TIME ON JUST ONE CHARACTER! I think the issue is you aren't playing the game the way it was intended. Bungie did not intend for you to spend all your time in patrol and literally nothing else
-
I don't get why this makes everyone so mad. PVE players can run the raid frequently, which drops some of the best loot in the game. I never even buy anything from the vendors because I have raid stuff or exotics. And if you're a PVE player that doesn't run the vault then I'm sorry but you're missing out on about 70% of the game and probably shouldn't have bought this in the first place.

Edited by SteelOwen: 12/3/2014 10:17:49 AMYou would rather farm for hours than do crucible? whats wrong with you?
-
Edited by TnT o0: 12/3/2014 10:37:42 AMI love Guardians like you. It's why I tea-bag.
-
Edited by Rifle Three: 12/3/2014 11:40:43 PMIf you're dead set on avoiding pvp like the plague, why do even care about leveling your crucible level? The weapons and gear aren't any better then the stuff the vanguard quartermaster sells. I think it's perfectly reasonable for bungie to make players looking to increase their crucible rep to actually play crucible. Stop complaining.
