Something was taken away that he enjoyed. Don't worry about why he liked it. Put yourself in his shoes and imagine a mechanic in the game that you use being removed. It was unnecessary.

Edited by Godchild: 12/2/2014 10:52:09 AMAs i said that was a good point and I agree it was also unnecessary to remove since Id never think someone traded 50 mats for 5 marks in the first place.

There was no other use for it. When I have 400 Spirit Bloom taking up 2 inventory spots, what else should I do with it? I don't need it, and the only other option was to discard it (now the ONLY option). Why not turn it into 40 Marks and 200 Rep?

Edited by Godchild: 12/2/2014 10:46:02 AMThat is a good point and all but they have a lot more then just patrol in this game to do. I'm still stuck on this horrible trade that people have been making honestly. Why trade 50 mats for 5 marks, that is 10 to 1 ratio, that on its own is just a bad idea.

I already answered that. During Patrol, you can gain LOTS of Mats. Last night, between three characters completing Patrols and the Daily, I got 120 or so Spirit Bloom, practically by accident. I do this every day. What am I supposed to do with the thousands that I'm going to pick up? I don't need them, and now the only option is to discard them. That's ridiculous when there was a mechanic in the game that at least gave them a use. Removing it was not a good idea. Let it be known that I love the addition. It's awesome that mainly PvP players can get what they need without griefing my patrols farming. It's just a slap in the face for people who were using the mechanic.

As i said that was a good point and I agree it was also unnecessary to remove since Id never think someone traded 50 mats for 5 marks in the first place. I'd rather keep saving it for new weapons and armors I upgraded. Hell I tried entire sets of NM, dead orbit, vanguard, crucible, and fwc armors to see what worked best for me. Not going to mention all the weapons I maxed out then trashed. Hell I spent over 200 relic iron on just one set of warlock gear one time. I've grind out tons of mats and id never part with them since I know ill use them in like 15 minutes.

Mats are much much easier to gain than rep/marks. I'll be damned if I'd trade 10 marks for only 20 mats. I can get twenty mats (except relic iron) way faster than 10 marks, without the effort. Simple solution: replace vg marks with crucible when you do strikes with faction items.

They might be easier because you have to try to die in patrol which makes it mind numbing boring to gather. My point was though it is 10 to 1 ratio, that is just horrible trade in any mmo or game I have ever played. As someone pointed out though "Something was taken away that he enjoyed. Don't worry about why he liked it. Put yourself in his shoes and imagine a mechanic in the game that you use being removed. It was unnecessary." I have to agree it was taken out unnecessary, since i have no idea why anyone would make the trade in the first place.

I'd much rather use them for Crucible Marks in order to buy those Faction items in the first place. To each their own. At least we can agree that taking out options is a bad idea. Stop subtracting. Just add.

Yup, common ground we can agree on is always a good thing to find.
