I have barely touched PvP (less than 10,000 medal score). I haven't levelled up any faction higher than rank 3.
But i have 6 dead orbit weapons, 3 FWC, and 3 NM.
Mainly nightfall awards.
You don't have to PvP to get faction gear.

Didn't say you did - you just need to play PVP to buy anything from faction vendors that requires marks, since for some reason they only accept crucible marks, which is dumb since you don't need to play PVP to gain rep with them.

I'm just addressing your first line of your last post. Faction gear AND crucible gear can be awarded without playing PvP.
